Claire's pov

When Jamie puts me in bed I quickly dose of. Thinking of the day, how sweet Jamie had looked at me, how he had admired me.

I was in an unfamiliar car and I feel exhausted. I look at the back of the car and see the meat I bought and the bottle of the finest whisky of Scotland.

In the sideview mirror I see a black car with tinted windows. It's pretty far behind me so I look back on the road.

The sound of the motor of a car behind me comes closer and I look in the mirror again. The car came very close in just matter of seconds.

I try to keep my eyes on the road but the car behinds me worries me. Jamie's face goes trough my mind, his smile and his voice telling me to be safe.

I look back at the road and after a minute a force hits me from behind and I try to stabilize the car but I crash right into a tree and it all goes black.

I start to scream as I'm still dreaming but it's just all black. I feel terrified, so scared to die.

Hands on my shoulders press my down on the bed. "Sassenach! Claire wake up, it's just a nightmare, I'm here!" I hear Jamie's voice and the dream disappears. I keep my eyes shut in fair that nothing is real.

"Claire please open yer eyes, I'm worrit," Jamie's voice is loud and he's genuinely worried. "Claire, please,"

My eyes flutter open and Jamie's worried face appears in front of me. "Claire, can ye hear me?" He asks and I nod gently. "I'm fine, Jamie. You can leave, I'll be alright," I say but he shakes his head. "No Claire, I'm going to stay with you for a while,"

The door opens and Ellen slips in. "Hello Claire, how are ye?" I lay stiff on the bed, staring at the ceiling. "I'm alright, I'll be fine. Y'all can leave me," I say relaxing my body a bit but Jamie shakes his head again.

"I'm staying with ye Claire. I'm no' leaving, no matter what ye say," he objects and turns to Ellen. "Could ye get a cup of water, Mam?" She nods and leaves the room. He pulls up the pillows and puts me in a seated position. "Are ye feeling alright?"

''I'm fine Jamie, truly,'' I tell me but I'm not buying it. ''What was it about, Claire?''I shut my eyes close and sinks into the bed. ''Claire, please,'' he begs me and I looks at him. ''It was about the accident, I relieved it, but now I saw your face the second the car closed upon me and I could hear your voice telling me to be safe,''

''Do ye have accidents often?'' He asks pulling the sheets over me again. ''I used to have them more often after the accident but I hadn't had them in a while, I suppose being here and constantly thinking about it triggers something,''

Ellen walks in with a cup of water and some calming pills and puts them on her side table. ''Here you go darling, take some rest,'' I smile at me and Ellen leaves the room again. ''Tomorrow we'll go the fair and to the drive in movie ''The Great Gatsby'', we loved that movie and we watched it at least once a month,''

''Sounds lovely, will it be just the two of us?'' I asks and he nods. ''Just the two of us,'' I smile and Jamie stands up and kisses the top of my head before leaving. My heart speeds up the second his lips touch my hair and no matter how wrong it is, I wanted to pull him close to me and kiss him. I knew I loved him but what I felt for him was more guilt then love.

Jamie's pov

When I get out of bed, I take a shower, shave and spray much deo on. I put on comfortable but decent clothes on and go down stairs. Nobody is up yet so I make bacon and eggs for Claire and me. She stumbles down at 6.45 am, just as I put the food on the table. ''Goodmorning Claire, I made ye some breakfast. The lads told me I had to make it for you,'' she smiles softly, eyes still halfly closed with sleep.
