Jamie's pov

A week after the fair

Claire and I had talked, 3 months. She would stay for 3 months and if she didna remember anything after that we would go our own ways again. I didna want to agree but I didna really have a choice, I have to let her go when the time comes.

Claire's friends had come over often but no new memory had returned. Nothing new really had returned after she remember the whisky. Today everyone came over again. I appreciated their help but I barely had time wi' Claire alone.

''So Claire, remember anyhting new?'' Geneva asks and she shakes her regretfully. ''No, nothing since the whisky,'' she smiles at me and I smile back, with a very forced smile. ''Aye well, it will come in time,'' I say and a soft. ''I hope,''

They continue talking to Claire, bringing up all kinds of stories to see if she remembers anyhting. Nothing. She knows nothing of those story. It worries me, what if she never remembers before the 3 months are over. I dinna want to say goodbye to her, I want her to stay wi' me, forever.

''Claire, will ye come wi' me for a minute, I need tae ask ye something important,'' she nods and stands up. We walk to the office and I close the door. ''If ye dinna remember after 3 months and ye leave, we get a divorce aye?'' I ask and she nods. ''Yes, otherwise I'm still not free, we both wouldn't be free,'' she says and I want to yell at her that I didn't want to be free, but I didn't .

Claire opens the door again and walks out, before I can leave Geneva comes towards me. ''Can we talk too Jamie? I need to ask you something,'' I nod and she slips in the room and closes the door. ''I know you're very worried about Claire but ye need tae let her go,'' she says.

''What? Why?'' I ask surprised and she places her hand on my chest. ''You can have me too you know, I'm English too and work in a more succesful place,'' she smirks and I chuckle. ''A whorehouse?'' she shoots me an angry look and go to stand very close to me. ''Not a whorehouse my dear, I know very well that I own a hotel, a big one, mind you,''

Her lips press against mine and I try to push her away. She forccesme more towards the back of the office and I crash against the table causing a vase to fall of. Geneva pushes her lips harder against mine and I place my hands on her shoulders to get her away. The door flies open and Claire stands in the doorway.

Finally I manage to get Geneva of me and I glare at her. ''What the hell Jamie? You said you weren't with anyone!'' Claire yells and her eyes get a little gloss of tears. ''I am no' with her, I havena ever kissed her either!'' I objects and Claire scoffs. ''Well that's not what it looks like!'' A sob escapes from her mouth and she runs off. ''You fucking whore,'' I say to Geneva who only grins.

I follow Claire outside and wait a minute before approaching her. She stands with her back towards me. Her body shakes a bit and I can hear her sniffle. She's crying, I realise. But why? She is in love with Frank not with me... why would she cry because I kissed someone else.

''Claire? Can we speak?'' I ask softly and she turns around. ''If you have something with Geneva, that's alright you know. But why don't just tell me?'' she says but I protest. ''I am not wi' her, I swear tae ye Claire,''

''Then why was she kissing you so passionately?'' she sits down on the bench. ''I dinna ken, but Geneva has always taken a liking to me Claire. She always wanted to be close to me or play in the same team wi' sports or videogames,''

''Why? Is she your ex or something?'' I shake my head. ''No I have never had anything wi' her nor do I want to,'' she sighs and gives me a weak smile. ''I can't really do anything about it either, can I? You're not mine,''
