- The Duke, the Traveller and a Dragon -
The morning sun cast a golden glow over the city, its rays painting the bustling streets below in warm hues of amber and gold. As the Chief of Justice made his way through the familiar corridors of the courthouse, he couldn't help but feel the weight of his duties pressing down upon him like a heavy cloak.
His mind was preoccupied with the countless cases and responsibilities that lay before him everyday, each one a testament to the unyielding pursuit of justice that defined his role as the city's chief arbiter of the law. From petty thefts to heinous crimes, no matter the scale or complexity, he approached each case with unwavering determination and a steadfast commitment to upholding the principles of fairness and equality.
But amidst the endless stream of paperwork and courtroom proceedings, there was one thought that lingered in the back of his mind—a name that seemed to whisper through the corridors of his thoughts like a fleeting echo.
Y/N.
The mere mention of her name sent a ripple of anticipation coursing through his veins, a reminder of the enigmatic woman who had captured his attention in more ways than one. From their chance encounters in the bustling streets of Fontaine to their shared moments of camaraderie and connection, there was something about her that intrigued him, drew him in like a moth to a flame.
But amidst the chaos of his daily responsibilities, there was little time to dwell on such thoughts. With each passing moment, he found himself consumed by the demands of his position, his every waking hour dedicated to the pursuit of justice and the relentless quest for truth.
Yet, despite the weight of his duties, there was a part of him that longed for something more—a sense of purpose and fulfillment that went beyond the confines of his role as the almighty chief.
But as he rounded the corner, he found himself unexpectedly face-to-face with the a young blonde girl with her floating companion —the traveller, with her adventurous spirit and infectious enthusiasm for exploration. He smiled slightly, slapping himself of his previous mindset.
"Chief," she said, her voice bright with excitement as she approached him, a glint of anticipation in her eyes. She ran up to him, waving one arm.
"Hey chief!" Paimon echoed.
Intrigued, the Chief paused, turning to face her with a curious expression. "Good morning, Lumine, Paimon. What do you need?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.
She looked over to paimon with a giggle and a glint of mischief in her eyes. "There's something we want to ask!"
He tilted his head slightly, his curiosity undeniably piqued. "Do go on.."
With a smile that hinted at the promise of adventure, the girl leaned in closer, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm putting together an adventure team," she said, her words tinged with excitement. "And I want you to consider joining us!" She exclaimed with such enthusiasm, it almost wore him out.And old friend of his also emerged. "Ah, Traveller, there you went—"
"Wriothesley. Help me convince the chief."
"The chief? Yikes, good luck."
Neuvillette's face turned to one of stoic annoyance as he looked over to Wriothesley. "So you've acquired the duke, well done." He rolled his eyes slightly, provoking a scoff from Wriothesley.
"Adventure team..? My, what do you mean by this?"
"My goal," she explains, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm, "is to embark on daring expeditions to remote and uncharted regions of the world—places where few have dared to venture before. We'll seek out hidden treasures, uncover mysteries, and beat up some ruin guards." She stood proud, with her hands on her hips.
