- maybe sometimes,
they do -

So lifeless and pure. She'd done no wrong in life. And now she was deprived of her existence.

What he was thinking of? Her. She was the only woman in the whole of Teyvat that could bring him to a weakness in his knees. He was well and truly head over heels for her. He wanted nothing but her. She was his everything. All he could ever asked for. And the curse of immortality is depriving him.

She's always been the most beautiful person to him. From her personality to things as simple as the way she styled her hair. She was perfect in every way, shape, and form.

He'll never, ever see her ever again. And without a goodbye, too. He truly loved her. She was absolutely the world to him. Nobody could ever even compare.

So he sat in his office. His usual posture now replaced with a slouch, and his expression one of pure tyrannical despair. He truly had lost the biggest part of him.

What was he even to do? He wanted to ask her to be his. He wanted to hold her hand. He wanted to kiss her scars and promise the world of good. He wanted to love her and hide her from the worst.

He was no longer dressed in his usual work attire. A loose dress shirt instead of the usual get up that weighed a ton. He felt sick to his stomach, just had Navia had.

They told me human emotion was a vital thing to understand but why does it hurt so bad? Nobody told me that understanding came with a price.

...

"Sigewinne, did you figure anything out?" Wriothesley entered the room, sighing. He knew he would never be able to accept the fact she was gone, so he made jokes and lied to himself.

Once it hit him, he was done for. The guilt would hunt him, would stab him in the back with a brandished steel that smoked with retribution.

"I think I understand what may have occurred however.... I don't think my ability goes that far.." Sigewinne sighed, checking the pulse on y/n's wrist with a sense of expectancy. Sigewinne knew that she was gone. But she felt a strong sense of duty.

"This sucks. I don't even know how I'm supposed to react."

"You couldn't have helped it." Chlorinde spoked out after a while. "What matters now is we find who did this to her and let me at them."

"Violence is never the answer-"

"Nobody likes you, Wriothesley."

"What the fuck."

"Can you please hold off your arguing?" The nurse sighed, "we don't need another problem right now.." Sigewinne gathered a few things, thinking out loud as she desperately searched for a singular idea of how to help the lifeless girl before her. "Can somebody go and check on the chief? He left in such a hurry..."

"I'll go. He'll be in his office probably."

"Give him my condolences."

...

The knocking of the door awoke him from his trance.
