We were silently walking. The scars from the Skin Eaters were slowly but surely healing. It has been a couple of days since we left the forest and the Skin Eaters. Even thinking back to those little black blobs is giving me the creeps. We were walking through a stinking swap. There was no bridge, so we had to make our way through the mud. This was harder than it seemed at first. Our feet got stuck to the ground multiple times and the mud was slowing us down. Even though this was the fastest route to the castle, it was a shitty one. Bo and Mo were lucky. They were sitting on our shoulders, just enjoying the trip. Mo sometimes shot small, flying bugs with his little, wooden bow. He offered them to Torin, who refused. Mo then shrugged his shoulders and ate the bug himself. It was very cute.
“This sucks.” I mumbled. I yanked my leg up and took another step. I repeated this process for a very long time. Luckily, the swap ended after a while and we had time to rest a little. It was still day. Torin and I tried to wipe as much mud as possible off of our shoes and the bottom part of our trousers. We didn’t even get close to getting it all off, but we got enough off for us to continue. The mud would dry in the sunlight anyhow. I easily lifted Bo up and placed him on my shoulders. Torin did the same with Mo.
“Once the trees turn autumn colours, we will be close.” I said.
“Autumn like that?” Torin asked, pointing towards trees, a few miles away from us. They were white trees -I forgot their names- with red, yellow, orange and brown leaves. We’re already here? Damn, we walked way more than I thought we did. I nodded at Torin.
“Yes, exactly like that.” I picked up my pace to get to Archdale Castle as soon as possible. I was walking so fast, that Torin had to run to keep up. Well, I realised I was running as well.
I rushed through the forest, passing countless trees. And then, I saw the Castle. I saw its big, tall, white, brick walls and its large towers. I saw its wooden doors and its black-greyish rooftops. It was massive. It had been so long that I was here. It doesn't look scary or haunted at first. It’s gorgeous. I’ve never been inside before, but I heard stories of the castle’s interior. People say it’s dark. The only light is the light coming from outside through the huge windows that were placed all around the castle. Torin caught up with me. He was panting as he stood next to me, trying to breathe properly.
“Is this it?” He asked. I kept quiet for a while. I stared at the castle for a solid 3 minutes before I finally answered Torin's question.
“Yes,Torin. This is Archdale Castle.”
