Irene's POV
I dialed Yeri's number while eating the breakfast I've made.
"Where are you? Are we not going back to Boston yet? Have you book tickets already?" I asked as soon as she answered.
"Huh? Aren't we staying another week for Sooyoung unnie's birthday?" She sounded like she just woke up.
"When did I say that?" I asked in disbelief.
"You exactly told Sooyoung unnie that you'll try. Isn't this trying?" I massage my temple at what she just said. "Besides, what are going to do in Boston? You're still free of work until next month. Why don't we just stay here for a while? I want to go visit my relatives at our hometown too."
"Yerimah if you want to stay, you can. Okay? As for me, I have nothing to do here. It's much better to just go back--"
"You're not going back without me unnie. Also, Sooyoung unnie would be upset if you can't attend her birthday when you said you will."
"I can comeback on her birthday." I said. I heard her took a deep breath.
"Unnie." She tarted seriously this time. "Don't you have someone here?" That made me pause. "I know Auntie and Jimin are in the states, but as far as I know you grew up here. Maybe you have relatives you can visit too."
"I do" I have relatives.
"Great! Then--"
"But I'm not visiting them."
"Any friends?" She then ask.
"None."
"An Ex?" What? "I'm just kidding unnie. So you really have no one here huh? No wonder it never crossed your mind coming back here." I heard her took a deep breath. "Okay then. If you really want to go back to Boston already, I'll book you a flight."
"Thank you Yerms." I said.
"But you're coming back a day before Sooyoung unnie's birthday." She said.
"Okay."
"You should take some rest once you're back there. I forbid you in writing and going to the office, for the time being. You seriously need time away from work. You're not working without your assistant, okay?" She said. I chuckled at that.
"I won't." I'll still be working when I got there, she knows that.
"Liar. I'll email you your ticket. When do you want--"
"If possible, this afternoon." I didn't even let her finish anymore.
"Not even tonight? Do you have a beef with this country?" She suddenly questioned. "You avoided coming here every chance you get. I'm even surprised when suddenly you've agreed to a meeting here. Well, it was Auntie who asked but what did this country ever do to you unnie?"
"Nothing, Yerimah." I said
"Okay, if you say so." That's weird. Usually she wouldn't be contenteded with just that answer. "Do you still need help in packing, or?"
"No. I'm almost done already. I'll head straight to the airport just after I finish."
"Okay. You can check your emails now for the ticket." Oh! she had booked one already. "Have a safe trip back unnie. Update me when you arrive." She said. "See you again next week."
"See you." I said and ended the call.
After I ate, I did all I have to do before I leave.
It was past 2 pm in Boston when I arrived. I book a cab going to my place.
I took out a deep sigh as soon as I arrived to the place I've been staying for years now.
I went to my kitchen to drink water before going to change for a more comfortable outfit.
I'm not that sleepy, cause I just slept the whole flight. I went to my office and face my computer.
Just after I opened it a notification pop up. Gosh! Is she monitoring this too?
I answered the video call on my computer.
"Yah! It's like 3 am there already. Get some sleep!" I said. I can see her lying on her bed bed already.
"I figured you'd go straight to your working station as soon as you arrive." With her voice, she just woke up from her sleep.
"Go back to sleep Yerimah. Consider this as your vacation okay? Just try not minding me for a week." I said to her. I can see her fighting herself from going back to sleep.
"Okay unnie." She said. Huh? That easy? "I really could use a break."
I thought she was going to end the call already, when all of a sudden she look like she remembered something that made her completely awake.
"Unnie!" She sit up from her bed. I leaned back to my swivel chair waiting for her to talk. Looks like she wanted to tell me something.
"Hmm?"
"I had dinner again with Sooyoung unnie last night!" She said
"And?"
"Well I was with the same people again, and they were looking for you." Oh!
"What did you say?"
"I told them you flew back to home already. Don't worry I assured Sooyoung unnie, you'll be here on her birthday." she said. "But you know what's weird?"
"What?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Seulgi unnie questioning why you had to leave and where you went." I just look at the screen.
"Did you tell her where I am?"
"No. I didn't had the chance 'cause Wendy unnie teased her already. Unnie..." I look at her in the screen. "I think Seulgi unnie's interested in you." I scoff at that.
"Stop talking nonesense Yerms." I stand up from my chair. "Go back to sleep now, I'll go rest already."
"Unnie! I swear! I can tell!"
"Sure Yerimah." I said.
"Do you not even find her attractive?" I paused.
"She is attractive." I said, remembering her features.
"She's interesting too." Yeri added.
"Yes, she is."
"What if I'll set you--"
"No." I straight up said, because I know what she's about to say.
"I'm not even finished yet." she said.
"I know you." I said. "I'll end the call now." Yeri didn't have a choice and just agreed.
I'm tired to even think about it now.
