Irene's POV
"Unnie, what just happened?" Yeri asked the moment we got in to our room. "You knew them? Was all that's said there true?"
"Yeri, I need you to help me get to Seulgi now." I desperately held her arm.
Wonwoo's making sure I won't go follow Seulgi. I know he won't go against her.
"So it's true." She said.
"I need to get to Seulgi before she do irrational things." I begged. "Please, Yerimah."
"Unnie, after all that I heard? I'm not stopping Seulgi unnie." I paused and look at her. I saw a tear drop from her eyes. "You need to let her do what she intends on doing."
"But Yerim..."
"Unnie, it's not just her being angry at a person now. It's also the guilt of letting such things happen to you. Let her do something that could take that guilt away from her, even just a little, or she'll be forever carrying it in her." She said. "You all owe this to her." She's right.
I step back and sat on the bed. There I let out my tears again.
"I'm ready to explain already, but not like this." I said. "Not this way---"
"Unnie, Seulgi unnie's reaction will still be the same regardless of how she'll know everything." I felt her sit beside me. "I would react the same, if I was in her position or even if I'm not." That made me face her. "What happened to you was unacceptable." I took in a deep breath.
"It's not what matters now, Yerim. The important thing now is we get to stop Seu--"
"It matters unnie! But when will it finally matters to you?" She said, cutting my words off. "Based on what I heard, earlier, you never get to mind what really happened to you." I stopped at what she said. "You straight up gave up everything just to please the people who silenced you. How about you unnie? How about what you need to do for yourself? Why did you ignore what happened and just live your life like it never did---"
"You don't understand, Yeri." I covered my face with both my hands as my tears kept on falling. I know she has a point. "It was Seulgi. I didn't want her to be put in a position where she needs to make a choice between me an her family. She was already the head of the Kang family at that time, it'll be a huge mess..."
"You knew she'll choose you over them." Yeri said and I nodded. "Then you should've let that happen." I shook my head. If only it was that easy.
"Yeri, I was pregnant." I look down. "How do you think people will react to that if I still stayed with her? Her parents were already against the idea..."
"But unnie, what if it was what she wanted to do?" Yeri interrupted me carefully. "What if what you did kept her from making a decision she wants for herself? You weren't able to give her a chance to decide, because you just decided for her. Don't you think that's pretty unfair on her part, unnie? She was forced to live a life being hurt and clueless of what happened, but she still believed in you." Her words got to me. What if I did told her.
"But unnie, if you were pregnant..." I look to her side. I already know what she'll ask next. "What happened... Where... Did you get an..." she's struggling on what to ask exactly.
"I kept her." I confessed. Yeri reach for my face. I closed my eyes as I let her wipe her tears away.
After my Mom found out about me being pregnant, she took me the states with her and Jimin.
About my family... I did chose to stay here, instead of going with my Mom. I just thought I already had a life built here, with Seulgi. I can't just flew out of country all of a sudden, and my Mom understands that.
