Continuation of the past...
Irene's POV
We arrived at the restaurant but Seulgi's not there. We were meet with Grandma Kang.
"Joohyun. Oh dear! You're here. Seulgi just came by, she's worried abou--" she was about to give me a hug but I backed out. I can't have anyone touching me now, I just can't. "What's wrong?" She asked and look at the people behind me.
"Nana, where did Noona go?" Wonwoo asked her.
"What's happening?" She ask full of authority.
"Nana..."
"Tell me." Grandma Kang sounds scary now. "Officer Kim! Since these won't speak up. I want you to tell me what's happening."
I felt his eyes on me before he spoke. He told her everything that happened earlier, without a detail left out. Grandma Kang just remained silent and only listened to him.
"Joohyun." She called out, that made me look up to her. "Can I talk to you alone? Will you let me?" She's always been so kind and accepting to me. I shouldn't be scared, right?
"Nana..."
"It's okay Wonwoo." I said, assuring him that it's okay for me.
When the two got out already. Grandma Kang spoke.
"I'll put Micheal behind bars." She directly said. That made me look up to her in shock. "I'll punish him the way he deserves to be punished, for what he did." Why do I get a feeling that there's a but following that.
"At what cost?" I asked her. She forced out a smile.
"I have always thought you'd be a perfect partner for Seulgi. You're smart enough to know things." She said. Was that suppose to be a praise?
"Just go straight to the point." I said to her. It's the first time she'll see me acting this, 'cause if there's something I'm really scared of now... it's that there's a possibility that I might get seperated from Seulgi. I can't have that.
"I can't ask you to break up with Seulgi, that would break her." She said to me. "I only have one thing to ask."
"That is?"
"Act like you're not one of Micheal's victims." What? "I want you to turn a blind eye. Let the other victims speak up for you."
"W-why would I do that?" I ask in disbelief.
"Micheal will still be punished." She said like it's that easy for her to put her grandson into jail.
"But you're silencing me."
"Your silence is the only thing that can save this family from a potential chaos."
"Why do I feel like I'm being blamed here? Why are you trying to put pressure on me?" I asked her, I'm getting emotional again.
"Seulgi loves you more than her family, I'm telling you in case you don't that yet. And if she'll know what happened, she might kill Micheal." I shook my head hearing that.
"You know Seulgi can't do that. She's not capable of..." I stopped when I saw the expression Grandma Kang has now. She's serious.
"Do you know why my husband and I decided to leave everything to her?" All of a sudden she changed the subject. "She's not greedy. She doesn't aim for power like all of my children does. She's patient for everyone and she knows what's right from wrong. Those things doesn't only apply for family member or people close to her, but to everyone. She's too kind, I must say. She understands everyone so well, but I don't think that will apply anymore if she knows what happened to you."
