Back to the present...

Irene's POV

"Hyun..." I unlock and opened up the door to a worried Seulgi. I just look at her.

Would you have look at me the same way, if I have told you what really happened? I trust you would choose me over your family, but would that have been right?

"Hey..."she started. I can feel my tears coming down.

"I'm sorry." I was about to close the door again but she stopped it.

"Hyun please..."

"Please don't make this even harder for me Seulgi."

"H-harder for you?" She asked confused.

"Yes Seulgi. So please just let me be." I tried closing the door again but she's strong enough to keep it open.

"No." She firmly said and entered my room, herself. She then locked the door.

"Seulgi."

"Why did you suddenly disappeared?" She asked.

"Seulgi--"

"Why did you left me all alone?"

"Seul--"

"Why did you chose to leave?"

"Seulgi please." I plead but at this point she doesn't seem to have a plan on stopping anymore.

"Did I do something wrong?"

"Was I too hard to be with?"

"Did you really love me?"

"Please stop." I said. She's already asking nonstop.

"Why is it so hard for you to tell me the truth Joohyun?!" She frustratedly asked now.

I don't know if it's the alcohol that I drank or my emotions are just really getting in to me now that she's asking me all of this directly.

"P-please s-top." I begged as I feel my tears falling more. "I'm sorry I left you, okay? Just please stop asking now."

"Don't you think I deserve an answer to these questions, Joohyun?"

"What's the point of asking now Seulgi? We've got different lives now. We both moved on already. So please, let's just leave the past..."

"Did you really think I've moved on?" She said to me. "Was my love not that clear for you before? Joohyun, I could move mountains for you. Did you expected me to move on without knowing the real reason why you left?" She asked in disbelief. Is she being for real now?

"You should've hated me." I said to her. "You should've despised me." Is she a fool or what? I left her and she's still this understanding?

"I know you, Joohyun." She said straight to my eyes. "You had your reasons."

"Even if I had, that doesn't change the fact that I left you."

"Do you want me to hate you for that?" She asked. I just stare at her, letting my own tears fall on its own now.

Do I even deserve her? After all that happened, am I still worth it to be understood by someone like her?

Next thing I know is her dropping on her knees in front of me. She look up to me and reach for my hand.

"Please don't do this to me, Seulgi." I said to her.

My weakness have always been her. I could never bare this, maybe that's why I chose to just disappear without a trace. Because no matter what, she'll always be capable of pulling me back to her.

Grandma Kang only asked me to be away for some time, but I couldn't bring myself to comeback. How can I? Without telling her the truth? Without telling her the whole thing?

And now that we're exactly in this situation, I don't know what to say to her.

"I just want answers." She said before she look down. "Before Nana died, she asked me to find you. She said that you never really meant to leave me. I badly want to hold on to that, Hyun. I've been holding on to that." She's telling me these between sobs now.

I wipe my own tears with my free hand and avoided looking at her. If I let my guard down now, I don't how long I can keep myself from giving in at this point.

"Maybe it's time to stop now Seulgi." I said, not looking at her. "Stop holding on to something that's in the past already."

"Have you moved on already?" She asked in a shakey tone, that made me look back at her. She's looking up to me, with her tears falling down her cheeks nonstop. I took a deep breath. She still holds everything in me.

I leveled down to her. I reach her face and wipe off those tears, in silence. I felt her eyes on me.

"Hyu--"

"We can't happen anymore, Seulgi." I said, straight to her eyes. "Even if I haven't moved on yet, it doesn't matter anymore."

"It matters."

"Listen to me." I said to stop her from talking more. "What happened in the past, I think it should be kept like it was intended too." I don't want to cause problem. "Digging up what happened will only make things more complicated." She shook her head. I carress her cheek. "Let's not do something we might regret, Seulgi." This is also my way of protecting myself from the past that could haunt me, if I come back to her.

I leaned in to her and kissed her forehead.

You'll always and will only be be the love I had and will have, Seulgi, I don't think anyone could change that.

I felt her grip on the side of my shirt. I move away, only to see a new set of tears falling from her eyes. I wipe it off again.

"Please stop crying now." I said to her. Before I can say more she leaned up to me and kissed me.

I froze at the contact. I can't seem to push her away. None of us moved, not until she decided to. I felt her hand on the side of my head now.

I need to stop her, but why can't I move against her actions? She deepen the kiss and I found myself responding to her.

"I'm never letting you go anywhere again." She said between our kisses. She pulled me by my waist, making me hover over her. I can't seem to stop myself at this point, I've missed her, and the alcohol in my system isn't helping as well.
