Chapter XVII

Irene's POV

As we arrived we went straight to my Mom's. Yeri said she wants to meet my little girl again. I realized she was right, if my real intention for hiding is to protect her then this is the right thing to do.

We were able to speak to Sooyoung and Wendy before we left. Yerim wasn't able to tell them the details fully but they understand it as soon as the main issue was mentioned.

I do think the two knows something about Seulgi looking for someone but they were not expecting it to be me.

We got there and my sister was surprised to see us.

"Oh! Unnie, Mom's still at work. I'm off to somewhere. I didn't know you'll come." She greeted me with a hug and she then face Yeri. "Hi Yeri unnie. Come in, you two."

We entered the house and I notice Yeri looking around. I look at Jimin.

"Is Selene at Tiffany unnie's place?" Jimin nodded.

"How is she?" Jimin look at me, like she already sensed something.

"She's doing good. Wait! Why are you here unnie?" She questioned that made me realized how I just seldom visit them.

"Unnie, I think I left something in Jeju." Yeri suddenly speak up.

"Jeju?" Jimin asked in surprised. "You went to Jeju? I thought you're just going to the mainland and comeback." This time she's looking at me in a worry. She knows how special that place is, for me.

Befor she can even talk more the doorbell rang. I walk over to it and opened the door.

"Wow" there's this girl in the blonde. She  just stares at me.

"Jagi, wait up! I'm still getting my things." Jimin then run upstairs. I face the girl again.

"Come on in." I said to her and opened the door wider for her to enter.

"Hi I'm Yeri." She introduced herself.

"Minjeong." They both shake hands.

"Jimin calls you Jagi. Are you somehow..." Yeri wasn't able to continue when Jimin's coming down the stairs already.

"She's my girlfriend." Jimin said proudly. She went over to Minjeong's side. "This is my sister, Joohyun unnie." She pointed at me.

"No wonder Selene's really pretty." The girl said. She knew her? "Nice to finally meet you." She then bowed.

"Nice to meet you as well."

"You look like someone." I said.  The more I look at this girl, she gets familiar.

"She's Taeyeon unnie's sister." Jimin said. Now that make sense.

Not a minute later someone speaks at the door.

"Minjeong-ah. I forgot the toy in your car." Taeyeon unnie got to my view. "Oh! Joohyun you're here." She smiled at me before looking to the side. "Selene! Your Mama's here." She called.

Next thing I saw was an excited little girl running my direction. I crouch down and meet her with a hug.

"Mama, I've missed you." She said tightening her hug. When exactly was the last time I saw her?  I feel myself getting emotional. I patted her head.

"I've missed you too, baby." I kissed the side of her head. She then slowly pulled away from the hug. She look at me with a huge smile on her face. I smiled back at her.

"Are you staying for long, Joohyun?" I look up to Taeyeon unnie. She's looking at me with expectation. I smiled and nodded. "That's good." She said.

I stand up straight when Tiffany unnie arrived.  She's the one who always talks to me about spending more time for my daughter.

"Hi unnie." I greeted her. She smiled and look down at the little girl.

"What did I tell you?" She said. Selene giggled and held my hand.

"I believe you now Auntie, but I'll still be playing with you and Auntie Tae today." She then look up to me. "You're not leaving today, right Mama?"

I smiled and crouch down again for her. "I'll be staying." She smiled widely and then her eyes went behind me. "I know you." She said.

"Hi little one." Next thing happened is Yeri pushing me to the side and she's facing Selene now. "I wasn't able to introduce myself the first time we met, but I'm your Auntie Yeri."

"You're the one always with Mama in pictures." She pointed at Yeri.

"I'm sorry you only saw me in pictures, little one." Yeri look to my side with a glare. "You could've told me about her sooner." She said it and was trying not to let Selene understand what she said.

I know how much this girl loves kids. When she first saw Selene, I remembered she carried her and finding her so cute. But that was just so quick because she went back to Tiffany unnie to play.

"Can you give me a hug?" Yeri asks and of course my daughter hugs her. "Oh!" Yeri almost lost balance and chuckled.

"She's a hugger." Tiffany unnie said.

"I really thought she's your daughter." Yeri said to her. Unnie scoffs.

"Almost everyone does." She look at me.

We already talked about my situation and she gets it. I didn't go on full details but she knows enough to understand me for keeping my daughter in.

"How I wish she was." I look at her. "I'm just kidding." She laughs. "I'm kidding."

Jimin suddenly fake a cough that catches all our attention.

"Everyone. Minjeong and I have to go now." She said and face me. "Why don't you and Yeri unnie go have some rest first. I feel like you need one now. Let's just talk later tonight." I felt my hand being held my a smaller one. I look down at her.

"I will also go and play with Aunties as well Mama. I'm sorry, I said I will play with them today." She pouted. I just leaned down and kiss her head.

"It's okay Baby. You enjoy, alright?" She nodded before she ran to Tiffany unnie.

"Unnie, thank you again." I said to her.

"Don't mind it."

They all then say goodbye and left me and Yeri alone in the house.

"Unnie, how can you be away from that little girl all the time?" She said to me.

"I-I don't know." I answered.

"Don't let her grow up like this unnie. You need to give her time. The hiding her thing? Don't be on it for a long time, if you don't want to end up regretting it." As much as Yeri loves kids, she understands them so well. Maybe I should've never hid this from her. I smiled and nodded at her.

"I get it Yerimah." I said.

"Good." She said and walk her way to her luggage. "Where do I stay?" She asks.

"The guest room. Let me take you there." I said. As we reach the room she look over to me seriously again.

"Do you think the letter you left, for Seulgi unnie, will be enough for her not to look for you?"

"No." I shook my head.

I'm certain she's finding ways on how to work things out now.
