Chapter XXII

Irene's POV

"Is there any way you can contact Seulgi?" I asked Sooyoung as we all sat down in the table during lunch.

"Unnie, isn't it night time in Seoul now? Did you miss her that much already?" Yeri ask in a teasing way. Sooyoung just laugh it off.

"I miss her." Selene raised her hand, claming that. We all smiled while looking at her.

"I'm just worried, she said she'll call me back once she got home. It's been hours now." I said checking my phone from time to time.

"She must've fallen asleep already." Sooyoung said.

"But she always meant what she said." I faintly said and just stare at my phone.

Seulgi never forgets. If she says she'll do something she'll do it with all her best. I don't want to think bad but this is so unusual.

Or maybe I'm just overreacting. Maybe she was too tired and fell asleep as soon as she got home. I should just calm myself down.

"Unnie!" I came back to my senses when Yerim called me. I look up to her.

"Why don't you call her, unnie." Sooyoung suggested.

"I already did and I can't reach her." That's when the look on Sooyoung's face changes.

"What do you mean you can't reach her?" She said. "Her phone's never out of reach. I mean, she everyone's one call away person. You can never not reach her." This time I saw the look of worry in her face.

Sooyoung got up to get her phone. She then , I guess, tries to call Seulgi. Suddenly she look over to me.

"Her phone is out of reach." She said and starts calling again. "Can you contact Seulgi unnie?" Oh! She called someone else. "She's already back in Seoul... Okay. I'll try calling Yeji too." And she did.

"Can you put it on speaker?" I ask. Sooyoung noded and did what was told.

After a few rings it was answered.

"Unnie..." the sound of her voice is a little hoarse. Sooyoung look up to me telling me that I should speak up.

"Yeji. Are you alright?" I ask first. She sound like she came from crying and shouting.

"Joohyun unnieee." That's when she start sobbing, it made me nervous as fuck. I look at every single one of them in the room.

I signaled Yeri to take Selene to her room. She was already looking up to us, curiously.

"Did something happened there, Yeji?" Sooyoung speak up.

"S-seulgi u--unnie..." the mention of the name made me scared. I look at Sooyoung. Who is now looking at me.

"Calm down first, Yej. Breathe." Sooyoung said. "Now tell us what happened to Seulgi unnie."

"She got in to an accident."

"What do you mean? I just talked to her hours ago. Now you're telling me--"Sooyoung cut me off.

"Unnie."

"No, Sooyoung we just had a talk this morning!" I said in denial.

"Yej. How's her condition now?" Sooyoung calmly asks.

"She's still in the ER." I stand up hearing that.

"Unnie, where are you going?" Sooyoung asks.

"I'm flying to Seoul." I said. She catch up on me and held my wrist.

"Let's not make some rash decisions unnie. Why don't we just wait for a while?" She said.

"I'm not waiting when Seulgi's life is what we are talking about here, Sooyoung." I said to her seriously.

"Then they'll know she had found you already."

"I don't care!"

"Unnie, calm down first, will you?" She held both my arms.

I shook my head and I felt my emotions starts to get to me. Fuck!

"Sooyoung, I can't not go to her. She needs me now." I start crying already.

I felt her hug me.

"Let's think about this first unnie. Selene's here. What are you going to say to her if you'd leave now?" Selene...

We hear someone calling us. We look at each other and went back to where the phone is.

"Noona!" We heard Wonwoo on the other line. "You can't come now Noona. You still can't."

"Wonwoo. Seulgi needs..."

"Micheal was the one who did this." That made me froze. "If you come here now and he'll know about it, we don't know what he'll do again. Authorities are already looking for him." He said.

"Unnie..." I look up to Sooyoung and she's shaking her head. "Think about Selene here. What if something happens to you there if you go now?" Fuck!

"Noona, just stay there for now. I promise, Yeji and I will update you... Noona, I'll end the call now. The doctor just went out of the ER." That ends the conversation.

Sooyoung look at me.

"Do you want me to fly there, unnie?" She asks. I just shook my head and took a seat again. I stared at the phone on the table.

How complicated can this get?

It already took half the day and we still didn't recieve a call from them again.

"Unnie, you need to eat." Yeri said, entering my office with a food tray.

"Is Selene eating already?" I asked.

"Yes. Sooyoung unnie's with her." She place the tray on my table. "Selene's worried about you."

"What did you say to her?"

"Nothing. She just said that you need to eat and not always work. She's the one who said to bring you this." She pointed at the food.

"Yeri..." she look at me. "Seulgi will be okay, right?" I asked seriously.

"I don't know, unnie." I forced out a smile.

"She promised she'll comeback." I look down. "I know we just got back together but, Yeri, if I lose her again now... I don't know anymore." I sighed. "How would I even explain it to Selene?"

"Let's not think ahead unnie. We have't recieve any news yet. Let's just wait for now, okay?"

"How long will this wait be Yerimah?" I look up to her.

My head's a mess right now. I'm contimplating over listening to them or just go to her.

Can I really bare waiting any longer?

3 days had passed... Still no update from them.

"That's it! I'm going to Seoul!" I said. Just before any of them can protest I recieve a call.

I look in to it and I was shocked to see who it was. It's been long since she called me again.

Last time I got in touch with her was when Grandma Kang was still alive. She was the one who help me here, on behalf of Grandma Kang.

I answered it automatically, thinking that she would know what Seulgi's situation now is.

"Joohyun..."

"How's Seulgi?" I straight up asked.

"Physically, she's a little fine now." That made me sigh in relief. "Would it be possible for you to fly here as soon as possible?" With how serious she is, I can feel that something wrong is happening there.

"Yes." I answered.

"Okay. Send me the details of what's your flight is going to be and I'll be the one picking you up at the airport."

"Did something else happened there?" I asked curiously.

"Seulgi can't remember a thing." What?
