As Christian made his way over to the crafts table, there were people weaving baskets swiftly with great precision.

"You're so screwed." Roger said to him. "We made Easter baskets once, and you couldn't get it."

Christian frowned. "I wasn't that bad."

"Tell that to Troy who had to treat all the splinters you got."

"Some words of encouragement would be nice." Christian hissed at Roger.

"Why would I do that?" Sarah elbowed Roger.

"You'll be fine." Sarah assured Christian. "Just remember to weave over and under the straw." Sean's Granny spotted him from the head of the table and gestured for him to come Forward. "Go get e'm." She encouraged him before pushing him ahead.

"Again. He's screwed." Roger repeated.

Christian walked over to Granny and saw Briar sitting on one side of the table with a hateful look on his face.

"Sit." Granny referred to the empty seat across from Briar. Christian did so. "I want a clean fight, you two. Whoever makes the most baskets within one hour shall prove who the better omega is, okay?"

"Piece of cake." Briar said confidentially.

"I'll do my best." Christian mumbled bashfully.

"Very well." Granny spoke before checking her watch. "We shall begin, now."

Briar snatched as much wicker as he could and started immediately. Christian grabbed what he thought was enough, and stared at the pieces of straw in his hands as he tried to figure out where the pieces go.

Forty five minutes later, Christian's hands are shaking as he attempts to mend the bit of wicker. "C'mon bro! You're making us look bad here!" Ashley yelled from the crowd.

"I'm trying!" Christian yelled back at her.

"You haven't even done half a basket! Not even a quarter of a basket!"

Christian puffed his cheeks out as he stared at what would be mistaken as a wicker plate that a three year old made. Hearing snickering, he glanced up at a smug Briar with a small pile of completed baskets created with great precision and design.

Frowning, Christian didn't pay attention and yowled in pain when he pricked his finger.

"For the love of." Roger was cut off when the people closest to Christian rushed to his aid.

"Are you okay?" One of them asked as Christian is on the verge of tears.

"Pathetic." Briar felt triumphant. It was short-lived when Sean approached Christian and knelt by his side.

"Let me take a look at it." Sean gently held Christian's wrist as he checked his index finger. "Looks like you've got a splinter. Does anyone have a pair of tweezers?" The omegas rummaged through their personal belongings as Granny watched the scene thoughtfully. A young girl with huge glasses handed Sean what he was asking for. "Thank you." He said before looking at Christian sternly. "Hold still while I get it."

"I can't look." Christian squinted his eyes. "It's going to hurt and."

"Finished." Sean interrupted him.

Christian opened his eyes. "Come again?"

"I got the splinter." Sean repeated before putting his hand on Christian's uninjured shoulder. "Now you can continue."

Christian drooped. "Why bother?" Christian said. "Time's almost up and I barely managed to do this much." Christian jolted when Sean intertwined their hands. "What are you doing?"

Sean's manipulating Christians hands in order to weave correctly. "Over the hill and into the rabbit hole." Christian began to blush. Especially when the other omegas were squealing as quietly as they could with the tender moment they were witnessing.

As Christian watched Sean's hands holding his, thoughts of Jason helping him with math and science problems at the college library flooded in, and regret began to seep in.

"Sean. I."

"Get away from him!" Briar bellowed out before jumping over the table and tackling a screaming Christian. "He's mine!" Briar yelled furiously as he and Christian tumbled in the dirt.

"It's not what you think!" Christian defended himself. "I already have a mate, so back off!"

Upon hearing this, Jason's eyes widened as smiles formed on Christian's siblings' faces.

"Briar!" Sean's trying to pry his ex off of Christian but is unable to with all the wrestling going on.

Everyone halted when Christian let out a painful yowl. Briar stared in shock as blood began to seep from Christian's injured shoulder.

Sean snapped out of it in order to shove Briar aside. "What's gotten into you?" He asked his ex. "This is why we couldn't stay together." Sean explicated. "It's not because you lack the skills of an omega. It's because you lack the compassion of an omega. And until you better yourself with that, you and I will never be together ever again." He picked Christian up bridal style and rushed to the nearest medic tent with Jason and Christian's siblings close behind. Leaving Briar to punch the ground angrily as people stare at him as if he's a disgrace.

"As I've said before." Sean's Granny said on Briar's left. "That mongrel presents himself as a better omega than you ever will."
