The doorbell rang, and Troy opened the door to reveal a handsome man with short black wavy hair. The richest brown eyes you'll ever see. Is dressed in business attire and appears to be the same age as Calvin.
"Troy. How wonderful it is to see you again." The man's British accent is thick.
"Walker." Troy greeted the man.
"Still as chipper as ever." Walker stated.
That's when Calvin appeared behind Troy. "George." he extended his hand out to the British man. "Thank you for coming on such short notice."
George shook Calvin's hand. "Anything for an old friend." he looked past Calvin to see Christian, Roger, and Tracy standing in the foyer.
Calvin glanced over and smiled. "Please come in." George entered. "You remember my beloved wife."
George grabbed Tracy's hand and kissed it. "My lady."
Calvin gestured towards Christian and Roger. "This is my youngest son, Roger. He is interested in expanding his shadow work. And this is my long-lost son, Christian. He is the one in need of your services."
"Pleasure to meet you two." George shook hands with them. "My name is George Walker. Tell me, how much experience with shadow magic do you two have?"
"Me and the others learned how to make shadow puppets, but that's about it." Roger answered him.
"That is a good start." George said. "However, every vampire is different when it comes to shadow magic. Shadow puppets may be all you're capable of doing."
"Wait." Christian said. "There's a good chance that I won't be able to manipulate shadows?"
"That is correct." George answered.
Christian deflated with the news. "I'll feel bad if you came all this way for nothing."
George knelt down in front of him. "Even if neither of you can learn this skill, just being able to meet up with old friends makes the trip worthwhile."
"And you probably wanted to get away from your crazy wife." Troy stated making Tracy elbow him.
George smiled up at Troy. "I see you're still as feisty as ever." he stood back up. "Where shall we begin?"
"The children have prepared our family library for your convenience upstairs." Calvin announced. "We shall escort you there and Troy can fetch some refreshments while you get situated."
"Sounds wonderful." George said. "I would like a cup of Earl Grey. With a couple of sugar cubes."
Troy's left-eye twitched. "We don't have sugar cubes. Just regular sugar."
"That'll be fine." George smiled at Troy. "And I am hoping we can find some time to get reacquainted with one another."
"Not with my busy schedule." Troy spoke.
"Don't be silly." Calvin intervened. "You two can catch up after the lesson."
"But master."
"No buts." Calvin said. "Besides, you could use a small break. I don't think the manor will fall apart if you take a couple hours off."
Troy's jaw clenched tightly. "If you insist." he excused himself to get refreshments from the kitchen.
As Christian followed his parents and George up the steps, he whispered to Roger. "Is it me? Or does George have a thing for Troy?"
Roger chortled. "Supposedly he and Troy were good friends back in the stone ages, and both claim to be straighter than straight, but their reaction to one another makes you wonder."
Christian hummed in thought as they made it to the library. "This room shall do nicely." George said. "Let's light some candles, turn off the lights, and see what you two can do."
Calvin patted both Christian and Roger. "Good luck, you two." They were left alone.
George clapped his hands together. "Shall we?"
Sweat began to form on Christian's forehead while Roger has a look of determination in his eyes.
