"I can't believe that little bastard is related to Bryan." Roger cursed under his breath. "Where's the humanity in that?"

"Get a grip." Jacob told him. "It's not like we have to see him again, right?"

"Hey!" They hear Briar calling out to them.

"Crud." Jacob cursed.

"As you were saying." Roger gritted to him.

When Briar caught up to them. "You. Me. Bathroom. Now." He pointed at Christian.

"Don't think we're letting you beat our brother up." Jacob stood forward as did John and Roger.

"Relax." Briar said to them. "I want a word with you. Besides, now that I know that pesky wizard is around I couldn't try anything without my uncle knowing what I did."

Christian looked hesitant for a moment before slumping in defeat. "Alright." He followed Briar to the nearest bathroom and gestured towards the others as a way of assuring them that he would be okay.

"I say we eavesdrop on them and see what that son of a bitch has to say." Roger spoke.

"I don't care for your bad language." John spoke back. "But I agree. Let's hear what he has to say and be sure our brother doesn't get physically hurt." They tailed them as stealthily as they could.

When they made it to the men's room and after making sure they were alone, Briar watched as Christian fidgets with his fingers.

"What did you want to talk about?" Christian asked nervously.

"You already know what I want to talk about." Briar stated.

Christian drooped. "I'm guessing it has something to do with Sean."

"That's correct."

"I already told you that."

"You can't have him." Briar interrupted him.

"Huh?" Christian asked dumbly.

"Seeing as how we are cousins by marriage that Sean cannot have a relationship with you if he was with me."

"We're cousin in laws?"

"That's what you're asking after I threw down the law? That's not even a real word."

"It's not?" Christian blushed in embarrassment. "Anyways. You don't need to use that against me. Cause I already told you at the fair that I already have a mate."

Briar snorted. "Yeah right. You were just saying that to get me off your back."

"It's true!" Christian exclaimed. "It's the pale guy who was with us."

"The zombie?"

"Yeah."

"That dorky nerd is your mate?"

"Yes."

Briar hummed. "I don't buy it."

"It's the truth." Christian insisted.

"Then why did he let Sean touch you?"

"He only held my hand. And we had a fight on our way to the fair."

"That's a lame excuse."

Christian began to feel frustrated. "Why won't you believe me?"

"Because Sean wants you as his mate."

"What?"

"He wants to replace me with you."

"That's absurd."

"Not to me, it's not."

"Why would he want me?"

"Because you're the total opposite of me." After Briar said that, he diverted his gaze.

"The opposite of you?" Christian asked him.

Briar growled in response. "You know what I'm talking about. You saw how I acted at the fair."

"Sure." Christian said. "But I think that was you acting up because I was hanging out with Sean. What are you like when it's just the two of you?"

Briar did a side glance. "About the same." He muttered.

"Really?"

"Yeah. And that's why he's interested in you."

Christian frowned. "Are you sure he just yearns for you to be, more vulnerable around him?"

Briar leered at Christian. "What are you getting at?"

"Sean just wants someone to take care of. Maybe if you open up to him and lower whatever emotional walls you have up, his love for you will grow."

"What a load of." Roger mumbled when John covered his mouth.

"Huh." Briar said. "I never looked at it that way. I just assumed he was hovering over me to be sure I was following the rules and behaving correctly." He admitted.

"Has Sean ever mentioned wanting you to behave?"

"Not really."

"There you go." Christian happily chirped. "Now you can stop being jealous and accusing me of trying to steal your man away."

"I'm not so sure about that."

"Why?"

"You still have the ability to steal him away if you wanted."

Christian blustered at him, and Briar couldn't help feeling attraction setting in. "Holy crap. How are you doing that?"

"Doing what?"

"That face you just made has me thinking of something." Briar shrugged it off. "Never mind. Must've imagined it."

Christian furrowed his brow. "Okay. I hope everything works out for you and Sean." He gazed at him bashfully. "And maybe if things work out and we both end up back with our mates, maybe we can go on a double date sometime."

Briar looked genuinely surprised. "You want me and Sean to go on a double date with you and pale guy?"

"If you don't think that's a good idea. I understand."

"It's not. It's just." Briar stammered. "Nobody has ever asked us to double date before." He admitted awkwardly.

Christian looked up in surprise. "Really?"

Briar's facial expression turned into a scowl. "Of course not. What a ridiculous idea." He's stomping away. "Just stay away from my man." Christian made a dead-pan face as he left.

"This sucks." Roger spoke from their hiding place.

"I agree." John said. "I am not sure if the issue was resolved or not."

"One thing's for sure." Jacob chimed in. "If our idiotic brother isn't careful, Sean and Briar might fight over him."

Roger grimaced. "Or worse, they'll want to share him with each other."
