When Christian and Sean were dropped off at the supernatural police station, "It's a warehouse?" Christian questioned making Sean chuckle.

"Wait until you see the inside." Sean said as he escorted Christian through a small door on the side.

Inside, Christian looked at how clean and high-tech the building is as supernatural beings walk the halls and man the work stations they're in.

"Wow." Christian breathed out. "Not how I pictured it at all."

Sean shook his head with a smile forming on his face.

"You two need help?" A person with octopus arms sticking out of his back wearing blue questioned them.

"We're looking for Detective James Thornefield."

"Go through the multi-detector. Then take the elevator up to the third floor." The man in blue directed.

"Thank you." Sean said. "We appreciate it."

As they were crossing the lobby, "Multi-detector?" Christian asked Sean.

"It's a metal and magic detector mixed in one." Sean explicated as they approach a big circle built into the wall.

"That's safe, right?"

"I'll go first, so you can see for yourself."

When an officer gestured for the next person to enter, Sean walked through the circle where a red light flashed as if you were entering a portal to another world. There was a beeping sound as a blue hue mixed in as Sean exited it.

"Next." The officer gestured for Christian to enter.

"Please Lord, don't let me die there." He prayed before cautiously making his way to the circle, took a deep breath, and entered. The multi-detector flashed red and repeated what happened when Sean walked through.

When it was over, Christian looked back and forth before checking himself out. "I'm alive." He cheered before yelping when the person behind him shoved past him.

"Gotcha." Sean caught Christian before he could fall onto the white-tiled floor.

"Th-thanks." Christian stuttered.

"You're welcome." Sean muttered as he stared at Christian. "You're so endearing." Sean blurted before clearing his throat. "Anyways, we should go before it gets too late." He released him.

Christian nodded with his face flushing. "After you." Sean nodded as he led the way. They entered the elevator, pushed the button to the assigned floor, and waited in awkward silence.

When the doors slid open, a man in a grey suit that looked like an older version of Bryan was waiting for them.

"Sean." He greeted the tall brunette warmly.

"It's great to see you again, Mr. Thornefield." They shook hands before the older man looked at Christian.

"And it's nice to finally meet you in person." He stretched his hand out to him. "James Thornefield."

Christian accepted the hand shake but winced with how strong it was. "Nice to meet you." Christian rasped out. "Bryan's talked so much about you."

"And my son has talked a lot about you." James said before gesturing towards the glass doors. "Shall we?"

Later in James' office, "To summarize, you both went to this bar on the outskirts of town, the blood drainer entered and went after young Ashley before going after you when Sean interrupted and chased him away. Is that about right?"

"Yeah, that's right." Christian answered him.

Bryan's dad narrowed his eyes. "Why do I get the feeling you're leaving something out?"

Sweat began to form on Christian's forehead and thanked his lucky star that Sean finished his part of the interview and is waiting out in the hallway.

"Why would you think that?" Christian asked.

"The way you described it; it's as if the blood drainer knew you."

Christian began to feel overheated. "We don't know each other. I mean, not really." James squinted his eyes tight enough to look like he was shooting lasers at him. "Okay. Okay." Christian caved in. "Um, he visited the coffee shop I work at a couple times this week."

"Coffee shop?"

"I just started working there a few days ago, and he came in twice ordering bland black coffee"

"That's all?" James asked.

Christian frowned and felt his heart pounding as he stretched his T-shirt to reveal his bandage.

James rushed to his side. "At which point did he bite you? Neither you nor Sean mentioned this before."

"This didn't happen at the bar." Christian said. "It happened last night."

"Last night?"

"I bumped into him on my way home from the diner, then he took me to this supernatural bar hidden in an alleyway, and he decided to have me for dinner."

"How did you escape?"

"I don't know." Christian mumbled. "One moment my mind went blank. And when I came to, he was gone. Guess I got lucky."

"Lucky indeed." James muttered. "We need to get this checked out and get an impression of it."

"Please don't tell my family." Christian begged. "I haven't told them what happened yet."

James leaned back in his seat. "Why not?"

Christian frowned. "They're overprotective of me as it is. This gets out and I'll never see the light of day again."

Bryan's father exhaled. "That's the least of your problems. That blood drainer knows where you work and has gone after you twice, so I believe that's a small price to pay for being safe." Christian down cast his eyes when James placed his hand on his shoulder. "Listen, there's a dozen supernatural people that weren't as lucky as you. That bite mark may be the only evidence we'll have against him, so please."

Christian deflated before nodding his head. And thirty minutes later at a supernatural hospital. "Why didn't you inform us of this?!" His father is yelling at him while a nurse treats and makes the imprint of the bite wound.

"I didn't want to worry you guys."

"And look where that got you!"

He grunted as he felt the rest of his family bore their eyes through the doorway.

"And that should do it." The nurse chirped as if nothing was wrong. "Now, let me get your discharge papers so you can head home."

"Wait. Are you sure you don't need me to stay overnight for observation? Um, nurse?" He felt chills go up his spine as he felt his family itching to get their hands on him.
