haiden sat in the corner of her living room, her apartment filled with the few familiar faces she'd invited and many more unfamiliar ones.
for some reason unbeknownst to her, she was sat with a whisky in hand... haiden did not like whisky, nor did she own any.
any alcohol would suffice at the moment as she made eye contact with gracie. haiden was unaware of how she got here, but really she didn't care. elijah had disappeared off somewhere but at least gracie was still in her line of sight... up until eve and jordan knocked her back to her senses

"for someone who invited us to this housewarming, you've been out of it" eve laughed, waving her hand in front of haidens face

"sorry, sorry... just a lot on my mind" she smiled while the whisky burned down her throat

"a penny for your thoughts?" jordan asked before sitting in the chair opposite haiden, legs crossed and a glass of wine in hand

haiden smiled and shook her head, finishing off her whisky with a hiss before placing the glass down. although this was supposed to be her evening, she couldn't help but feel on edge knowing gracie was lurking around her home. her home that was now filled with memories and photographs of elijah.

"have either of you seen elijah?" eve popped up, finishing up her own drink as she stood from her chair

"last i saw he was outside having a smoke" bobby chimed in, sitting himself down on the empty couch with spencer and the lads by his side. they watched as the two siblings headed for haidens front door, all of their heads now turning to the young tattooed girl.

"what?" she sighed as she raised her eyebrow

"this is your housewarming, and yet you've been more miserable than a cats arse. what's up?" spencer smiled, moving to sit opposite haiden while placing a cup of coke and vodka in front of her

"nothing! nothing... i'm just tired" she smiled "i've been up writing, talking things over with management and discussing other things" she mumbled, sipping her drink

"and have you spoken to eli about this?" ryan asked, sipping his beer

"i haven't seen him to say anything, not that important really" she shrugged, finishing her drink and setting the glass down before heading to her bathroom.

she locked the door behind her, all she could hear was the door vibrating against the frames at the sound of the music. she sat on the edge of the bathtub, her brain running wild.

maybe this wasn't a great idea

"angel? spencer said you were in here so i'm really hoping this is still you" elijah laughed lightly as he tapped on the bathroom door. oh his laugh... it had haiden melting at her feet.
she pulled herself from the seat she'd taken, regaining her balance before unlocking the bathroom door and making contact with those big, brown eyes.

"there's my pretty thing" he smiled

"hi" she hummed back, resting her head against his chest while he wrapped his arms around her shoulders

"how come you've been locked away in here?"

"i'm not feeling too good... i'm tired all the time, i'm wanting food but then when i smell it i'm nauseous" she sighed, lifting her head to look at him as she reached her hand to play with his curls "where have you been?"

"a smoke, my love" he smiled, kissing her hand softly "do you want me to get everyone out and we'll get you to bed? you're looking a little pale"

"no no, i invited everyone here... they're all having fun i think, it'd be unfair"

"haiden, you're not well... we can do this all again some other time yeah? let me take care of you please" eli sighed, brushing her hair behind her ear as he felt her cheek. she sighed and nodded with a smile, grateful that she had elijah so willing to stay behind and help.
