elijah awoke to a wonderful aroma coming from his family kitchen, laughter and clangs echoed throughout the hallway.
he hoisted himself up with a yawn, rubbing his eyes as he pushed his hair back. looking down at his chest he noticed that haiden was nowhere to be seen, worry overtaking his body.
"shush, we're going to wake him" followed by an abundance of giggles
elijah couldn't help but smile to himself, slipping his feet into his mothers stray slippers. he made his way through the still rose-covered hallway and into the kitchen... witnessing a sight he did not ever believe he'd see
his mother, two sisters and girlfriend all in the kitchen covered in flour. he leant against the doorframe as the four girls still hadn't spotted him, only for his father to pop up behind him
"what on earths going on?"
"not a clue, da" he laughed
"eve i told you we'd wake him!" haiden whined, pointing over at elijah as she threw a handful of flour back at eve
"oh you did not" eve laughed, grabbing yet another handful of flour before she chased haiden throughout the house with it
elijah watched as the two girls ran past him, making his way into the kitchen this time as he placed a kiss on his mums forhead "you know, when i brought haiden home, i didn't bring her home for this" he laughed "what were you guys even trying to make?"
"haiden wanted to make you pancakes and a fry up after everything you did for her last night. we all got a little distracted" ali laughed, beginning to clean up the kitchen with the help of paul

the sun was finally out, and quite a bit of heat was coming through during the day. naturally, haiden being as pale as she is decided to take advantage of the situation. eli's family had gone out for the day, leaving the two alone to which he'd invited their little friendship group over for a barbecue... who was cooking she had no idea because it definitely wasn't him
