Lorenzo Morelli
"She's not the rumoured princess." Charles notified.
I raised my brow and looked at Charles. "The rumoured princess?"
"Yes. The way the people there described her personality and her activities isn't the one I saw." He wouldn't lie about it because I know when he's serious and tells the truth. His big blue eyes turns dark when he's serious and right now, its dark.
"What if she's just playing the good-girl act." I said while looking through some documents. "No one can change this easily. Just few months ago, we investigated about her and saw it with our own two eyes how she acted with the commoners and with the maids." I looked at Charles. "You want me to believe she changed just in few months or days?"
"You may be right but we should give it a more time and I think you should at least go and greet your wife." Charles said.
"Why should I?" I raised my brows.
He sighed in disappointment, "She's your wife, Your Majesty."
I ignored him and focused on my own work.
He sighed and left the room.
_
I was at the training section.
"I heard your wife is beautiful more than the rumour says." One of the knight said. He's younger than me but probably daring than me.
"Haven't seen her yet." I answered as I swing my sword towards him. I obviously lied but they did not have to know that.
Everyone in the field looked at me surprisingly. I saw Charles sighing from a far away. Why does he keep sighing for no reason?
I got my mind back to training. These idiots have a lots of free time to wonder about things like my marriage.
Everyone in the Palace is friendlier with me but they know how dangerous I can be. So beside the friendliness they maintain their formality as well.
"Your Majesty, your wife is here!" Charles notified from far away. I glanced at him to find Armana beside her. That soft pink hair swinging by the wind. She had a pink floral dress on which wasn't much to notice anyway.
I ignored him and got back to my sword playing.
"Your Majesty!" Charles yelled again. "M-A-J-E-S-T-Y!"
I glared at him and he smirked. God, I want to kill this dude.
Armana seemed to say something to Charles and was leaving but Charles stopped her and shook her head.
He then glanced towards me like Armana did. I could see her soft smile melting everyone's heart but mine. My heart already belonged to someone, Fiona. I miss her. Is she here?
I started scanning the place before finding another light cotton hair. Fiona is here. From an opposite side of where Charles and Armana was. I hated that rosy pink hair and crimson eyes.
Why couldn't she be like Fiona, soft, sweet, light hair and green eyes. Each of her behaviour makes me fall for her even more.
I rushed towards Fiona where she was sitting alone, making an upset face.
She glanced at me and her eyes widened, "Lorenzo. . . What are you doing here?" She asked.
"Didn't you come to see me, half naked?" I smirked and she blushed. Cute.
"That's not it. . . I was just a little upset. That's all." She said, making the soft sad face again.
I got sense all the eyes on me and her. They are probably wondering why I was with Fiona instead of my wife. But don't they know how I was forced to marry that goddamn bitch!
Thinking about her makes me angry and wants to crush her.
"Everyone is focusing on the Princess now and nobody literally talks to me like they used to. Everyone seemed to be busy, winning over the Princess. I am not trying to be selfish but. . . I needed someone to talk to me. . ." She paused and realised what she was saying. "I- I am sorry, Lorenzo. I know you are mad at me for saying all these about your wife. Forgive me!" She closed her eyes, covering her face, embarrassed.
I chuckled at her cute face. "Do not apologise. I have nothing to do with that witch." I said as I glared at that crimson eyed bitch who was still standing, more further away this time. Her gaze were on the ground. Is she upset that her husband is with another girl? Well she should be. I do not care about her anyways.
"B-But she's your wife. Look at how beautiful she is. . ." She smiled, softly. "I'm not even half of her."
"How can you call a rotten egg, beautiful?" I said as I disgusted. "You are beautiful just the way you are, Fiona. Don't let anything change you." I caressed her hair and smiled.
"You flatter me, Lorenzo." Fiona blushed, making me chuckle.
Before I could say something, Charles interrupted, "Your Majesty. What are you doing here?"
"I am spending time with Fiona. Is that a problem?" I said, glaring at him.
Charles looked at Fiona who flinched and then at me, "It is not an appropriate time to converse with Lady Fiona, Your Majesty." He paused and then spoke again, "You have a wife out there who came to see you but you refused to."
"I don't consider as my wife." I said.
"Even if you don't, the whole nation consider her as your wife." He said directly.
Charles was the only brave person who could talk to me like that. That's just how it's always been. We are of the same age and we practically grew up together.
I sighed and got up, "Take Fiona to her room. I would like to take a bath now."
He spoke again, "After taking a bath, you are instructed to go to Princess Armana's room." He said.
"Shut up, Charles. You have been speaking quiet a lot these past few days." I roared.
Fiona flinched at my voice and Charles chest hardened. "I apologise, Your Majesty. But you have to do these if you do not want any rumours."
"I don't give a fuck about rumours-"
I looked at Fiona who was getting scared. "I am sorry, Fiona." I smiled. "You should go to your room, it's getting late."
She nodded and Charles went with her. I don't fucking understand why doesn't Charles like her?
