"Mellisa." I called her out. She wanted to tell me something while we were in the carriage and now she is ignoring me like we didn't almost spend a whole day.

"Yeah?" Her fake confused face was visible.

"Come to my room, tonight." I spoke. "I have something to discuss with you."

Wrong. I wanted to see her before I went to sleep. Her smile.

Her face turned red as she processed my words. I knew what she was thinking. She might act tough sometimes but her expressions are really visible and anyone in the room will be able to detect what she is thinking.

"You guys are home?" A low voice approached us. "I met His Grace but I got worried and thought you might've had a problem returning from the wedding."

"We are alright." My answer was short. As much as it shocked Mellisa, it shocked Fiona too.

"I will take my leave." Mellisa said and was on her way to her room.

"My Queen, remember." I said loudly for her to hear. "Tonight. In my room."

She stopped walking, turned back, looked at Fiona who had a terrible face. She blushed. "I know. You needn't have to say it twice." She looked away and started walking again.

I chuckled.

"Wow. You guys have gotten really close huh?" Fiona's face was dull.

The old me would have been heartbroken by the face she was making but right now, I didn't. My main concern was to have Mellisa and treat her like I was supposed to treat her from the beginning.

"Why not?" I shrugged, folding my arms. "Isn't it normal for couples to be close?"

Her face turned dark and sad. "Y-Yeah, but you know what I meant, you used to hate spending time with her, instead you spent your time with me and now, you are always with her. I am not trying to be selfish but-"

"It is not about being selfish." I stopped her. "Do not cause a misunderstanding. Surely, things were a bit messed up between her and I but as much I care for her as a Queen, I also love her as my wife. It took time for me to realise that but now that I know it, I'm trying to pursue her."

"I understand-! but I am just worried if she is brainwashing everyone. Since you didn't see what I saw, that's why I was a little disappointed that she is taking everything away from me." She grabbed on the dress she was wearing, which had a butterfly tangled on the side of the waist.

I remember this dress perfectly . I gifted this to her on her 18th birthday to announce that she was free like a butterfly. She misunderstood me and showed it to everyone that I treat her like a butterfly. Rumours began to start when everyone in the Castle started saying I gave the nickname 'butterfly' to Fiona as a sign of affection. I had feelings for her but I never thought of giving her a nickname. As I am realising slowly, I wasn't in love with her but her innocence and the charms she creates to spread them on her way out.

Charms aren't created, they are meant to be originated. Mellisa has that certain charm. She doesn't create them. She doesn't even know she has that charm. The charm, to make people happy around her.

I stared at Fiona who had tears in her eyes. I was disgusted somehow. I didn't like what I was seeing, not because I cared because this felt like a waste of time.

"She-...tried to kill me twice." She said out of nowhere.

"You tried to kill yourself twice, not her." I corrected and her face turned pale in shock and disbelief.

I sighed. "All the things you did before, all the schemes you played, I have evidence for all of them. Never forget the spies a Crown Prince and a King has on the people who are close to them. I, myself covered them for you so people do not find out but you cannot lie to the person who cover up your lies, Fiona. Even if you burn all the evidence, the original story will always remain here." I pointed at my head. "So do not hire an assassin to do something you will regret later."

"A-Assassin?" She started trembling. "How did you- I mean, I never hired an assassin. Someone is trying to f-frame me into this. I neved hired an assassin."

"Did I say you did?" I asked, folding my arms. I already knew she did. "I just warned you but seeing how you reacted doesn't seem so appealing is it?" I looked down on her, who was avoiding eye contact with me.

"I-..."

It was such a waste of time dealing with this. I had a lot of things to do. I need to prepare a self made dinner for our date tonight.

"Listen, Fiona." I let our a huge sigh. "Do you know why you are still here after causing these much damages to the Royal family and to Armana? Because Father took you in because he sympathised you. He treated you like a daughter and yet you mistreated it. I do not have no idea where did that innocent and naive little girl go who would smile like the sunshine and talk like sweetness is pouring out of her. You changed and I do not know the cause of it but I do know one thing, my whole perspective about you changed too and if you plan to change it further, I will also change my Father's sympathy and kick you out of the Castle. That is the last and final warning I will give. You may leave now."

She began to cry loudly and ran away from there. All the truths finally hit her, thats why she couldn't take it. She might have thought I would never know but I did my diggings and through spies and found out all about it. The way she hired an assassin to kill Armana. Everything was her scheme and I failed to notice it and that was how I failed to protect Armana.
