Nikolai Lantsov

"And this is how I got reincarnated into this novel without my consent." Princess Armana AKA Lady Mellisa finished.

I nodded. Still shocked about the reincarnation. I have been listening to stories like that all my life from some certain fairytale books. As a bastard child of the Palace, I did not have much responsibility when I was young. I did not even know I was going to be the Duke in future, but time says otherwise. So, I adjusted my world into the little fairytale world, but I guess all the concepts from the fairytale is real.

"How was your life there?" I asked, curiosity burning inside me.

"Uhm. " Lady Mellisa thought for a few moment then replied, "Life there wasn't like the Royalties. If we wanted to survive, we worked. If we hated someone, we simply ignored them, instead of killing them. We had churches, temples, mosques and all too. We had technologies and-"

"Technologies?" I asked, curiously.

*Uhm, yeah, like mobile phones, television, laptop etc."

"How do they work?"

"It's kind of a box like thing. It has a screen and if you tap on it, you can control it." She answered and explained thoroughly.

"So you guys are like some magicians? Or witches?" I narrowed my eyes.

She laughed at that, "No, Your Grace. It's called Science."

"We also have Science here, but they do not work like that." I replied.

"In the future, people invented more and more realistic things that you only read in books." She answered.

"I would like to feel myself there. I bet it would be amusing." I said, and laughed at my own thoughts."What kind of person were you?"

"Me?" She blinked twice. "I worked all day and night, just to find myself bleed to death. Haha." She made a laughing face.

"So you are the Villainess, I am the male lead, Fiona is the female lead and Lorenzo is the second male lead? How come." I asked, trying to puzzle up the things Mellisa said earlier.

"Ask the author of the novel, if you ever meet her." She huffed, "I am so tired of these things. It is as if, no matter what I try to do or fix, the story keeps on repeating itself."

"I do not think the story is repeating, otherwise I would not have stand infront of you and talk about your reincarnation here." I shrugged.

She made a point face. "Hard or not, I do love the life here. No work, stress about my own personal life only, and the foods!" She squealed. "You guys have the best food here. Every time I eat, I eat like it is my last meal." She kept on blabbering.

I find myself being lost in her words. As I keep on listening to her more and more, something inside me tells me to stop the time and never resume it. I want to talk to her like this forever. She is not like those boring nobles or ladies I have been with in the past.

Maybe, it is because she is from different dimension.

"I really have to make time for myself to visit the famous Street Market. I have heard a lot about it and even read it in many books. All the Street Markets have the same concepts as far as I have read. I think-"

"Do you want to go there with me, tomorrow?" I asked, without letting her finish.

"I-I..? Why?" She asked, stuttering, getting anxious.

"I have some business to attend there tomorrow." I lied. "You can come with me."

Her face lighten up and a glimmer of excitement wondered through those crimson red eyes. That would be very nice!" She held both her hands together and did a happy dance.

Do girls do that anymore? I guess, this particular one does.

I chuckled. "Make sure you put on a disguise. That pink hair of yours is unique." I said, getting lost at those strawberry flavoured hair. I wonder, do they taste like they look?

"Unique? I think it is pretty common here, in this Palace." Her face turned down. The face from before was no more visible.

"I have never seen such hairs like before, in the Palace or even outside the Palace." I replied.

If she is referring to Fiona Barlee, then she is wrong. They do not possess the same hair colour. Even if people say it, i would not believe it because Fiona has a light pink hair with the most lightest shade of pink. Her hair is nothing like Armana's. Smooth, wavy, soft looking and very much pink.

"Thank you, Your Grace. You do have some certain charms in you to lighten up people around you. You are the Male Lead for a reason." She chuckled at her own realistic joke.

Would it be harmful for anyone if I want to be the Villain in the story?

"It is late, Lady Mellisa. I should take my leave." I said, smiling, and left her alone in her own room.

The more I will stay with her, the more harder it will become for me to stay calm and in control.

You do have some certain charm in you to lighten up people around you.

Her words were ringing inside me. Never have I earned a compliment like this before. Suddenly, I cannot stop smiling.

"Why are you still here? In this late hour?" A commanding voice brought me back to the real world.

I looked into his eyes. Same old icy blue eyes, piercing my soul deeply. Why do you hate me so much, Lorenzo?

"I was talking to my friend." I replied.

His eyes darkened. There was a snow storm in his eyes. "Since when have you been befriending Armana? Hm?" He crossed his arm.

"Secret." I whispered and shhed him.

"Don't joke around, Nikolai." He practically roared. "What were you doing in Armana's room?"

"Again, I was talking. Now will you excuse me. I have a day to prepare." I fixed my clothes and left, before a hand grabbed my shoulder, hardly.

"If you plot anything against me, Nikolai. Anything.., I will kill you with my own sword." He said.

I scoffed, "Father is still alive, Lorenzo. Get a grip. Why don't you fulfil the duty Father gave you. You are disappointing him since the day of your marriage." I said.

"Do not tell me what is disappointment. I don't need to hear that from a Bastard child." He replied, which was enough for me to keep my mouth shut.

"I will take my leave now, Your Highness." I bowed.

Who would have thought, your own brother can hurt you the most with their words.

Male lead huh? And she is the Villainess? I laughed at my own thought. How is she a Villainess? I guess I will have to find that out tomorrow. Tomorrow is a big day...
