Leilani Edwards
There was an intimate level I couldn't explain in waking up in the arms of a man I knew I deeply adored and the feeling was heavily reciprocated.
After what we'd shared the previous night, we'd gone home and what was supposed to be a goodnight kiss on my forehead turned into a pillow talk until naturally, I didn't want him to leave my bed.
He didn't need any convincing to slip beneath the blankets with me and spoon me from behind, his hand looped over my belly from underneath my baggy t-shirt.
It felt like he hadn't moved much in hours since we slept, apart from his legs heavily intertwined with mine. His face was buried in the nook space of my neck, his nose dipped into my skin.
I could feel him softly breathe on me, his hot breath leaving warm tingles of sensations that sent a fuzzy feeling to my stomach.
I couldn't help but smile, glazing my fingers over his as if to hold him closer to me and ensure he wouldn't let go.
I'd give anything to make this last longer, just long enough to sustain me for a lifetime because I couldn't fathom a life without him ever since he became an important part of it.
I gently slipped my fingers in between his, rubbing my palm against the back of his hand. I needed to hold on this way because I knew I'd miss it at some point. I knew it wasn't permanent and a lot could happen in the blink of an eye.
With the life I was living and dark forces hovering over me, nothing was predictable and I hated it.
Nikolai softly stirring beside me tore me from my thoughts, drawing me back to a reality where he was the only good thing happening to me.
My hand must have woken him, but it felt worth it when he fully laced our fingers and held our hands over my stomach with his in direct contact with my skin.
He pulled me back into him, pressing his body over mine while the tip of his nose rubbed against my neck. His mouth followed in the gentle tease, peppering my skin with light, sensual kisses.
His lips moved to my ear. "Leilani," he hummed, his voice husky and sleepy. "Good morning."
My smile seemed to grow wider involuntarily, my thoughts running wild as though I was hearing his morning voice for the first time as well as feeling all the things his presence erupted within me.
Nikolai lifted his head and stretched his torso so he could look at my face. I flipped onto my back so I could face him, my lips stretching even wider upon looking at his face.
I lifted my hand to cup his cheek before extending my fingers to his hair for a gentle caress. "Good morning, Nikolai."
He was effortlessly handsome and the affection and warmth in his eyes added to his beauty.
Nikolai softly smiled as he removed his hand from my stomach and used it to sweep my hair off my face. I followed his eyes as his fingertips traced my temple to my cheek until they reached my jawline.
He tactfully placed his hand for a gentle grasp before leaning in to kiss my forehead. I softly chuckled as his kisses trailed down my face to the tip of my nose and eventually grew into a soft peck on my lips.
"You're so gorgeous, Leilani," he murmured as if he was in awe of me and my entire existence.
No one looked at me the way he did and appreciated me as much. He was gorgeous.
Of course, I was speechless, just smiling wide with my fingers combing through the soft curls of his hair.
With a soft yawn, Nikolai dropped his head onto my chest, his hand slipping beneath me so he could grasp me by my waist.
