Chapter Two: Mount Justice II

Mount Justice II, 8/20/15, 2:20 PM  

Connor opened his eyes as he heard the sound of footsteps far down the hall.  He quickly leaped up off of his bed and out into the hallway.  He looked down to see Megan, Kaldur, Cassie, and Grant running towards his door.

"What's going on?"  Connor asked looking at the four confused.

"Something is attacking the town!"  Megan yelled as she reached him, "We're dispatching a squad to stop it!"

"Who?" Connor asked looking over at Kaldur, but Kaldur shrugged at him.

"We don't know.  The squad hasn't been made yet either.  But you might be needed."  Kaldur led the group to the main chamber as the alert kept sounding, "We gathered everyone as soon as we heard it!"  Kaldur yelled over the alarm.

Connor looked around at the team as they gathered.

"So are we all going out there?"  Wally asked tapping his foot on the floor.

"No.  It would be a waste of resources.  Superboy, you're leading the squad.  Blue Beetle, Miss Martian, Robin, and Green Lantern, you're all up with him.  Get out there as quickly as possible.  NOW!"  Kaldur yelled out the orders and Connor was into action running to the opening door.  Blue Beetle, Miss Martian, and Green Lantern all flew above while the new Robin ran next to Connor.  Connor had talked to Jason quite a bit when he joined.  He found that the two were fairly similar in personalities, but Jason was a bit more careful after all he was the new Robin.

The group made their way out of Mount Justice and towards Farfield Harbor as fast as they could.  They reached the town within five minutes.  The town was in shambles, buildings were torn apart and burning.  Connor had no clue who could have done it.  Mammoth?  The Brain and Monsieur Mallah?  

No, this was different.

The squad made their way to the Farfield Harbor Mall when they saw something flying through the air and throwing fireballs down at civilians.  The creature looked red, and Connor thought he could see a tail on it too.  But that did not matter now, he had to stop it from hurting anyone else.

He quickly leaped through the air right at the creature.  He readied to smash into it with his fist, but it suddenly  disappeared in a red flash.  Connor smashed into the ground and looked up as the creature reappeared in the air in front of him.  It quickly kicked him in the face and widened its mouth letting out a breathe of fire.  Connor widened his eyes as he was knocked down by the attack.

The only thing Connor had been able to get a glimpse of was the creature's face.  It was definitely humanoid and male, but he had red skin and horns.  He looked like the...devil.  But he also looked like a young boy, only a little older than Beastboy.

The boy flew towards Blue Beetle and Green Lantern.  Blue let out a plasma blast while Green created a huge green hammer that he wrought down upon the devil-esque boy.  The boy quickly teleported out of the reach of the hammer and to the back side of Green Lantern.  Blue quickly turned around firing at the boy again, but this time the boy flew up hitting Green into the blast.  He then let out a blast of fire hitting Blue straight in the chest.  Blue was knocked back, but Robin ran up throwing batarangs at the boy.  Only one hit its mark when the boy teleported away near Miss Martian.

Miss Martian threw a car at the boy while Connor ran towards him.  The boy teleported out of the way and the car smashed into Connor now.  He hit the ground with a thud as the boy knocked Miss Martian out of the sky.  Miss Martian hit the ground near Connor.  She quickly flew towards him.

"CONNOR!"  He heard her scream as she tossed the car off of him.  She quickly helped him up as the boy knocked Robin down.  Robin leaped up with his staff throwing hits at the boy, but he could not land a hit.
