Aqualad sighed as he walked into the meeting. The entire Justice League and Team was meeting to discuss the new threat now that Kilowog had arrived. Aqualad joined the Justice League side standing with Nightwing and Superboy. With them stood Wonderwoman, Black Canary, Shazam, Martian Manhunter, John Stewart, Hawkgirl, Hawkman, Firestorm, Blue Devil, the Flash, Metamorpho, Red Tornado, Cyborg, and Doctor Fate.

With the Team stood, Wondergirl, Miss Martian, Stargirl, Damage, Wildebeast, Kyle Rayner, Terra, and Kid Devil. Wally still had not returned, the Flash was not sure of where he was either, but he had been summoned to the meeting and had to come then.

Kilowog stood with Wonderwoman and Martian Manhunter speaking lowly. Finally, Wonderwoman stepped forward and the entire room grew silent.

"Everyone." Wonderwoman sighed, "We have all gone through a lot in the past months. We have lost many that we still mourn." Aqualad glanced over at Black Canary as she looked down at the floor, she was still downcast about losing Oliver to the Red Hood, "But we have also gained many new allies. The Justice League may not be what it used to be, but we will rebuild and put an end to the suffering of others. Villains are in disarray and the world is at the most peace it has had in a long time.

"A few new members have of course joined the Justice League to fill their old mentor's places, Aqualad has become Aquaman, Superboy, Superman, and Nightwing is filling the place of Batman. All of whom we still mourn."

"The League of Shadows is in shambles after losing Ra's Al Ghul. Atlantis is back under Atlantean control after Ocean Master's vanquishing. The world is once again whole." Martian Manhunter nodded.

"But we have a new threat, as Kilowog has informed us. Something from the dark reaches of space. We don't know exactly what it is yet, but we will find out soon. It is coming for the Earth. We need to be ready and looking out for anything out of the ordinary. More out of the ordinary than usual, I mean." Wonderwoman was being especially serious now, "We have always fought and come out victorious, but we cannot let that make us over confident. Whatever this new threat is, we will deal with it."

"The Team and the Justice League will work side-by-side to keep watch on the world in case anything does happen. The Guardians will send help if needed, but for now we are all that stands in between this darkness and the Earth. We must protect it at all costs."

Any cost. Aqualad's own words repeated in his head as he remembered the fight on the plateau. He remembered watching Beastboy's eyes looking up in the sky. He would not let another friend die, not again. He knew this was unrealistic, but he was going to try his best to keep his friends alive, at all costs. He was Aquaman now, no longer the young boy who had joined a team of super hero children to stop villains and save small towns and cities. He was a hero who had joined a fellowship that would be protecting the planet and millions upon billions of lives from evils that were truly cruel and terrible. Things that killed, Aquaman and his friends had been changed over the past few years for sure.

Now they were going to step up to the plate and prove it.
