Barry stood on the edge of the rooftop looking out at his city. He could see everything from up there. The lights, the people, everything. He sometimes wished he had the vision of Superman to see more, but he could barely imagine how crazy things must get in his head. The world was his to roam now. He was free. A voice spoke behind him breaking the silence.
"No crime tonight." The voice reported walking up next to Barry, it was Oliver or Green Arrow. Barry remembered how Oliver had nursed Barry back to health after his encounter with Gorilla Grodd. Oliver had told Barry about how Hal Jordan had died due to Batman and Superman's refusal to help save him.
"What about Star City?" Barry asked glancing over at the emerald archer.
"It's fine." Oliver muttered.
"Oliver, you're the last good archer there is. With Artemis and-" Barry began nervously and rightly so because Oliver cut in.
"Don't say their names." He snapped, "I'm not replacing them!"
"You wouldn't be replacing them! You'd be finding someone new to take up the mantle! You're not going to be around forever Ollie!" Barry retorted in anger, "I'm just saying that I think it might be a good idea to-"
"YOU!" Oliver snarled drawing his bow and getting into a ready stance, "WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU CAN COME HERE?"
Barry squinted as a dark silhouette walked out of the shadows. Barry widened his eyes as he recognized Dinah Lance or Black Canary.
"Hi Ollie." She smiled weakly as Oliver slowly lowered his bow.
"Dinah..." He gasped walking towards her and embracing her, "I didn't-"
"It's okay." Dinah sighed, "I'm just glad I found you."
"What are you doing here?" Barry asked raising an eyebrow, he had lost all trust for the Justice League in the last two months. After all Oliver had told him, it seemed to Barry that his world crashed around him.
"I came to ask you two to join the League again." Dinah sighed as she looked over at Barry.
"We can't." Oliver quickly replied, "I'm sorry. We're done with the Justice League."
"Then what are you doing out here?" Dinah asked, her eyes growing larger as she stared up at Oliver.
"Doing our job." Oliver replied looking away, "Protecting people. Something Bruce and Clark were unable to do for Hal."
"Hal was a necessary sacrifice." Dinah walked towards Oliver.
"And was Roy a necessary sacrifice too?" Oliver snapped back glaring at her, "Do you even hear yourself right now?" Barry widened his eyes as the two fought, he had never seen them like this before.
"I thought you'd get it." Oliver turned away from her, "But you sound horrible. You can't just call people necessary sacrifices. You can't toy with their lives like gods! Because then you're just as bad as Vandal Savage!"
"I tried to save him!" Dinah yelled back, "I was the one who found him! I was the one who weeped over his dead body as Cyborg pulled me back! We couldn't save Roy and we couldn't save Hal! You were there too!"
"Dinah..." Barry stepped forward, but Dinah continued.
"I tried! I tried! And when I went to you, you pushed me away! Just like now! Why won't you let me in Ollie?" Dinah cried, tears were streaming down her face now.
