Poseidonis, 8/20/15, 3:40 PM

Kaldur smiled as he stepped through the zeta-tube into his homeland of Atlantis. The city of Poseidonis was still the same marvel of architecture ever since Kaldur left. The city was gigantic and Kaldur had the honor of being able to see it from the very top point at the royal palace.

"Kaldur'ahm!" King Orin or as most know him, Aquaman, called to him, "I was not aware you would be visiting Atlantis today! Or I would have arranged for some better welcoming committees!"

Kaldur smiled and embraced his king and mentor, "It's fine, my king. Just being here is enough for me."

"Kaldur?" A voice called from behind Orin, Kaldur looked around him to see Queen Mera swimming towards him, "Orin didn't tell us you were coming! It's so good to see you!" She gave Kaldur a great embrace, she was always like a mother to him ever since King Orin took Kaldur as his apprentice.

"My Queen, it's an honor to see you again." Kaldur smiled largely, he could barely believe he had not visited in so long.

"Come! Let us go around the city! You must miss seeing it!" Orin smiled taking Kaldur's arm and pulling him along, "Your friends here must miss you as well!"

"Thank you my King, but I also have some business here as well." Kaldur smiled as he followed the hero.

"Well perhaps I can be of assistance!" Orin insisted as they swam through the halls of the great palace, "What is it you need?"

"Just before coming, I was on a mission with my team." Kaldur explained, "There was a strange metahuman that we encountered, that I'm not sure was so meta in fact. He reminded me of a legend I learned from one of the scholars in the great libraries."

"What legend?"

"The legend about the demon minions of Neron." Kaldur replied scratching the back of his head, "I know it's just a legend, but what if it were true?"

"Oh Kaldur," Orin sighed looking over at him, "There is much the League has not revealed to you because we have believed you were not ready to know yet, but I believe you must know for this."

"What do you mean?" Kaldur stopped in his tracks, "Kept from us? Secrets?"

"Come with me." Orin sighed leading Kaldur the opposite way that they had been heading in. They reached a large statue of one of the original Atlanteans and King Orin reached up pressing on the right foot and pushing a piece of stone back. The wall opened up revealing a hidden tunnel, Orin lead Kaldur through down to a secret room beneath the palace.

"What is this place?" Kaldur asked as they swam inside, "It's...Ancient."

"It is my secret study." Orin explained, "I created it after I joined the Justice League. Look...Kaldur, there are many things that we have not told the younger generation. But there are many metahumans and heroes that the Justice League is monitoring."

"What do you mean 'monitoring'?" Kaldur asked in confusion.

"Ones we have not approached yet in fear that they are not ready for duties in the Justice League." Orin explained approaching a large console and bringing up a large library of names, "One sounds very similar to this legend, his name is Blue Devil."

"Blue Devil?" Kaldur asked tilting his head, "How come I've never heard of him?"

"Because we've made sure no one has." Orin replied pulling up a picture of Blue Devil, Kaldur widened his eyes as he saw an older version of Eddie, but blue and with a large golden trident.

"What is he?"

"He is a human that was transformed into a demon with many powers by Neron." Orin replied, "Your suspicions were correct. Neron is in fact real, but not a threat as of the moment. These types of people like Blue Devil, are not his minions though, merely those he made deals with."
