Chapter Twenty-Seven: The Plateau

The Plateau, 8/28/15, 10:09 PM

Wonderwoman slammed into Black Adam as the fight went on.  The two were evenly matched opponents, but Black Adam was still weak from his earlier encounter with Clark, whom now lay on the ground with a Kryptonite bullet in his chest.  Wonderwoman caught a punch and quickly threw Adam to the ground.  She looked around as the fight continued, not too far away Hawkgirl slashed her mace at Cheetah while John Stewart, Kyle, and Kilowog flew through the air after Sinestro.  Atomic Skull was dealing with several leaguers; Professor Zoom and Flash were no where to be seen, likely battling through speed.  The Team fought hard too, Superboy was dealing with Grodd and Mammoth simultaneously, impressive.  Eclipso and Warp fought against Kid Devil and Blue Devil too.  Miss Martian and Stargirl battled against Count Vertigo, Icicle Junior, and Livewire.  Damage and Parasite were struggling against each other alone.  Wondergirl was taking on Solomon Grundy and King Shark. Wildebeast and Terra were battling many goons from Firefly, to Sonar, to Chemo.  The rest of the Justice League that were in the fight were helping along, but the League of Shadows and their many minions dealt with them accordingly.  Black Canary and Hawkgirl were dealing with several metahumans from the League of Shadows.

The Ring of Evil had designed itself to deal with specific League members.  They were almost succeeding too.

Wonderwoman blocked an attack from Black Adam as he flew back up and quickly tackled her down into the plateau.  Wonderwoman slammed into his chest with her fists and kicked his chin knocking his head back.  Black Adam quickly leaped up smashing his head into Wonderwoman's and then punched her back.  Adam slammed her upwards launching into the air after her.  He punched and punched knocking Diana higher up and finally moved above her slamming her down with his fists.  Wonderwoman crashed into the plateau as Black Adam landed and moved over to her putting his foot on her chest.

"I've had quite enough of you, amazon."  Black Adam snarled raising his hand as the clouds began to roll in, "SHA-"

"SHAZAM!"  Billy was behind him now.  He grabbed Black Adam from behind and threw him upwards into the sky as the lightning bolt came crashing down.  The bolt hit Black Adam head on transforming him back to his human form, he fell to the ground hitting down with a thud.  

Wonderwoman widened her eyes and stood up as Shazam breathed in heavily.  "He's always been annoying, hasn't he?"  He asked looking over at Wonderwoman.

"You can say that again."  She nodded looking around with narrowed eyes, "What's our status?"

"We're driving them back, but things aren't looking that good."  Shazam looked down now and began speaking very softly, "I saw Beastboy lying dead on the ground..."

"No..."  Wonderwoman clenched her hand in a fist as he gazed around the battlefield, "They're going to pay for that."

"Is Clark...?"  Billy began, but Wonderwoman shook her head.

"Not yet.  I hope-"  She began, but suddenly the ground beneath them began to shake, "What in the-?"

She looked up as the sky crackled with lightning, she glanced over at Billy as he looked up as well.

"Hey don't look at me!"  Shazam raised his hands.

"Look out!"  Superboy yelled as he was backed up against Miss Martian amid the fight.  He raised his arms as Mammoth slammed his fist towards Superboy's face.  Miss Martian moved through him with her density shifting sending Mammoth back with a telekinetic blast.  Superboy turned around punching Icicle Junior in the face.  He grinned as Count Vertigo appeared, "I've been waiting to get him."  Superboy laughed launching forward and hitting the Count in the chest knocking the wind out of him.  Superboy grabbed his amulet ripping it off and kicking him down.
