A little after midnight, a man in a trench coat stood in the slums of Star City. The man looked up and down the street searching for anyone whom might be near. He walked slowly through the alleyways heading for a certain spot in the city. He moved quickly, stepping through puddles as the sky alit with strange colors. The entire world was in disarray, but the man kept moving. Finally, he reached his destination where another figure met him.
"So you're him?" The figure asked, it was a teenage girl.
"If you mean John Constantine, then you'd be correct." The man smiled looking at the girl, otherwise known as Zatanna.
"You're seeing this too?" Zatanna asked looking up at the sky, "What kind of magic is it?"
"Not magic." Constantine corrected her, "It is something else. The work of the Green Lanterns, as a sort of safeguard for the planet."
"A safeguard against what?" Zatanna asked looking at Constantine with a look of concern.
"A safeguard against the unknown dangers of the beyond. Things long forgotten to us, but not to others." Constantine sighed, "Only a few were there for the great attack."
"Attack?" Zatanna looked up, "What attacked?"
Constantine looked at Zatanna with a look of envy for her youth. He sighed beginning to walk towards the shop behind her.
"A force unlike any other." Constantine replied, "A darkness that cannot be allowed to return. Come with me, we must stop this before it starts."

Wonderwoman raised her sword as Cheetah slashed at her now. Hawkgirl was behind her and flew overhead slamming Cheetah down with her mace. Wonderwoman took the chance and slid around grabbing Cheetah by the throat and slamming her in the head with the butt of her sword. She dropped Cheetah down as she went unconscious. Hawkgirl sighed as she stood up with her mace in her hand and widened her eyes.
"Look out!" She yelled pushing Wonderwoman down and raising her mace. Wonderwoman looked back as a metahuman with green swords in her hands slashed at Hawkgirl.
"YOU!" Hawkgirl screamed, "YOU KILLED HIM! IT WAS YOU THAT NIGHT!"
"I'm here to finish the job!" The assassin yelled back as the two slashed at each other with their respective weapons.
Wonderwoman looked over as Wondergirl fought against Grundy and King Shark. She flew in slamming King Shark into Grundy as Wondergirl kicked the two away.
"Nice work." Wonderwoman smiled as Wondergirl did so, "You've really grown haven't-?"
"GARFIELD!" Miss Martian's voice broke through the chaos in a scream of fury, Wonderwoman widened her eyes as she saw the martian rising up in the air with her arms outstretched. The earth around her was rising up with her due to her telekinesis. Wonderwoman watched as Superboy was sent flying back when he tried to get to Miss Martian. Martian Manhunter flew to Wonderwoman as the young girl began to create a storm around herself.
"What is going on?" Wonderwoman yelled.
"She is in a state of distress!" Martian Manhunter yelled back, "She has lost her only brother!"
"Wait, you mean Beastboy is-!" Wondergirl yelled, but suddenly a blast of energy hit Miss Martian in the air creating an explosion mid-air and knocking the heroes back. Wonderwoman felt her head as she looked up to see Atomic Skull walking towards the middle of the fray. Wonderwoman slowly stood up watching as Hawkman flew at Atomic Skull only to be hit away as well. Wonderwoman raised her whip and flew forward as Atomic Skull turned towards her.
