Chapter Five: Oa

"Ha!  You can't be serious!"  Hal laughed as he walked next to Kilowog in the halls of the training academy of Oa.

"No I'm not kidding!  So he took the boulder and smashed it on her head!"  Kilowog laughed as well bellowing out roars of amusement, "It was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time, Hal!"

"What's going on here?"  John Stewart asked as he rounded a corner with a big smile on his face.

"John!"  Kilowog yelled in greetings, "Good to see you!"

"Haha you too Kilowog!"  John laughed.

"Hey I heard about the engagement John!  Congrats to your brother!"  Hal laughed and gave John a good handshake, "Now when are you going to find yourself a wife?"

"Oh come on Hal, you know me!"  John laughed, "I'm a solo kind of guy!"

"Oh don't tell me that John!  Don't tell me you've never-!"

"ALERT!  ALERT!  EMERGENCY!  EMERGENCY!  ALERT!  ALERT!"

Hal widened his eyes as the alarm sounded, "What the hell?"  He yelled over it as the three looked out at the planet.  Hal squinted as he saw smoke rising from the prison area a few miles away.

"The prison!"  Hal yelled to the others.  Hal quickly blasted a hole in the window and flew out along with Kilowog and John.  He looked over as more Lanterns flew out to join them, among them were Guy Gardner, Salakk, Ch'p, and Arisia.

"What happened down there?"  Hal yelled to Guy as they flew towards the prison.

"No clue!  Apparently it's something yellow though!"  Guy replied with a clenched fist.

"Sinestro?"  Kilowog asked as they landed in front of the prison.  The group looked up as another explosion rocked the facility.

"Look out!"  Salakk yelled pointing up at the prison as a yellow beam of energy blasted out of the prison at the group of Lanterns.

Hal flew up into the air as the beam hit the plaza in front of the prison.  The rest of the Lanterns did the same, but Hal looked up to see two figures flying out of the prison.  He reached up with his arm and created a whip to grab one of the figures and throw them towards the ground below.  The figure smashed into the ground and the other flew down as Kilowog grabbed them.

Hal flew towards the one he had grabbed and widened his eyes as he recognized Amon Sur standing in the rubble.  He landed in front of the son of Hal's predecessor, Abin Sur.

"Amon?  But why?"  Hal asked widening his eyes in shock.

"Because you had the nerve to take my father's place!"  Amon yelled in anger, "You, Hal Jordan, will feel fear like no other today!"

"Sorry Amon!"  Guy yelled smashing into him with a large green hammer, "But you'll have to deal with me first!"

John landed next to Hal as the fight went on.

"Braach was the other Yellow Lantern that Kilowog caught.  Kilowog and Ch'p are dealing with him, but we need to find Sinestro!"

"Right."  Hal nodded in agreement flying towards the prison, "How many intruders have we heard are here?"

"Well two out here, and I've got reports of more inside!"  John yelled as Salakk and Arisia joined them.

"So what's the plan?"  Arisia asked as she landed beside John, "We going to go take Sinestro's ass down?"

"That's the plan!"  Hal grinned as he quickly flew through the prison halls towards Sinestro's cell.  He took the lead with John, Arisia, and Salakk following close behind.
