Just when it seemed the enemy was going to win, they left. Shazam looked up at the airship as it turned from the city and moved higher into the sky. The Justice League heads had ordered not to pursue the enemy, though Shazam desperately wanted to crash through the airship and knock it to the ground. He stood on a rooftop as the Justice League gathered in the spot, most civilians had been evacuated hours before, but Wonderwoman had ordered a meeting, even Superman was on his way from New York City.
"Billy, everything okay?" A voice asked from behind him, he turned as Black Canary walked up to him.
"I just wish we could go after them." Shazam sighed, "Ra's should pay for this."
"I know. But we have to figure this out first." Black Canary smiled putting her hand on his shoulder, "We'll figure it out as soon as the Team arrives as well."
Shazam looked around suddenly, the Team. Where were they?
Martian Manhunter was standing in a tight circle with Hawkgirl, Red Tornado, Doctor Fate, Cyborg, and Black Lightning. Hawkman, Firestorm, and a new metahuman that had been discovered fighting the drones and Clayface had joined them too. Superman was spotted flying in with John Stewart and Kilowog as well.
The Team was nowhere in sight.
"Black Canary, where are they? They would have reported immediately." Shazam insisted, "They're not here. They must have-"
"Oh god." Black Canary widened her eyes as well as Superman landed, "They must have gone after them or gotten-"
"Captured." Shazam nodded walking towards the circle of heroes, "SUPERMAN!"
"What is it?" Superman asked as he landed next to Martian Manhunter.
"The Team they-"
"Greetings Justice League." A voice boomed from behind them. Shazam turned as a single drone floated down towards the group, "This is a message from the Ring of Evil."
"Ring of Evil?" Black Lightning scoffed.
"This is Ra's Al Ghul. We are the ones responsible for the recent attacks on the Justice League and Central City. We are the ones whom ordered the attack on Mount Justice and the deaths of multiple members of the Justice League. We now have your younglings."
"No..." Superman clenched his fist, "Superboy..."
Shazam widened his eyes in shock as he heard the voices of his friends.
"They will die one by one by the hour starting now." Ra's cut in.
The time was 7:00 PM.
"You have one hour till the first dies." Ra's continued sounding victorious already, "Unless the Justice League surrenders and moves all of its forces to the location recorded within this drone."
"Failure to comply with any of these orders will result in the destruction of multiple cities throughout the continental United States." Ra's ended, "We will crush you unless you surrender. Thank you and goodbye."
The message ended and the Justice League stood silent.
"We can't let them do this." John Stewart stepped forward, but Superman held up his hand.
"We have to surrender." He sighed.
"Clark-" Martian Manhunter clenched his fist.
"We cannot surrender." Doctor Fate argued, "That is what they want. They will kill the children and us no matter what."
