Chapter Fifteen: Mount Justice II

Blue Beetle paced around as the group awaited Eddie's return.  The boy had not returned in almost twenty minutes.  Time was passing quicker, and who could know how long their team members had before Deadshot or Captain Atom grew bored of them.  Though after all they had been through, Blue still doubted Captain Atom's betrayal.

"Jaime, we must accept that allies can become great enemies."  The Scarab insisted, but Jaime still disagreed. 

"Oh please, Captain Atom helped us on the Watchtower when Ivo's androids attacked!  He couldn't have changed so quickly!"  Jaime shook his head as he paced, "He couldn't have..."

"Blue?"  Jaime looked up as Stargirl and Beastboy stared at him, "You okay?"

"I'm fine."  Blue nodded, "I just can't believe that-"

"Captain Atom is in there!"  Eddie yelled as he appeared in front of Blue, "And so are Deadshot, Green Arrow, and the Flash!  And Red Tornado!  Also, tons of soldiers too!  They have all of your friends in there too!"

"Red Tornado?"  Blue asked in confusion, "He went against us?"

"Not likely, but what is likely is that he is being controlled by Captain Atom."  Black Lightning shook his head, "That's another leaguer we have to deal with."

"So what's our plan then?"  Beastboy asked as he morphed into a gorilla and beat his chest violently.

"We need to be smart about this."  Black Lightning stepped in, "We're all there is right now.  The Flash could sweep in and take us all down if we're not smart enough, Captain Atom, Red Tornado, and Green Arrow could do the same, as could Deadshot."

"In addition to that, they have hostages a.k.a our teammates."  Stargirl nodded, "We have to save them and stop the intruders at the same time."

"I can deal with the Flash and Green Arrow simultaneously."  Blue stepped forward, "My Scarab can calculate the Flash's movements quicker than he can run.  Green Arrow shouldn't be hard to deal with either."

"I'll deal with Red Tornado."  Stargirl nodded, "Beastboy, you take Deadshot.  Eddie you can deal with those soldiers, and Black Lightning will likely be the match for Captain Atom."  She looked to him for approval and he nodded back.

"You know, you all are truly League material."  He smiled, "Quite remarkable how well you all work."

Stargirl smiled and nodded, Blue narrowed his eyes being apart of the League?  He never really considered it before.

"Come on!"  Stargirl motioned to them, "Let's go save our friends!"

Captain Atom moved over to his captives as the soldiers patrolled the area.  Superboy, Miss Martian, Wondergirl, Aqualad, Garth, Tula, Wildebeast, Damage, Robin, and Terra were all his hostages now.  He remembered fighting by some of their sides on the Watchtower against Professor Ivo's androids, he never would have thought that he would be turning against them then.

Each had been outfitted with a special inhibitor collar to dampen their abilities, each could be electrically shocked remotely with the flick of a button.  Red Tornado was currently broadcasting all League member locations to Waller.  The woman was insane for attempting this, but it was working and Captain Atom had no choice but to help her.  He had been reinstated, he was loyal to the American government not the Justice League.

He looked over as Green Arrow and the Flash stood side-by-side with their arms crossed.  He moved over to them.

"Thanks for the help, you two."  Captain Atom nodded, "Your payments will be delivered soon.  Hal would be proud."
