I get it, the freak was mad. Still, did she have to slap me that hard?! The mark did not leave my skin for the rest of the day. It was time for payback. How? Simple. I was not going to punch her back but I was not going to be nice to her either. It was awful enough that she made Alexy cry once but now she went too far.

Even though Alexy told me to leave the freak alone, I could not promise her that. The freak had started this fight and there was no turning back from it anymore. Every time she walked past me, whether it was in class or outside of it, I started developing a habit of tripping her up.

The freak did not get mad or anything. Actually, she did not react at all. She stayed quiet usually and just coldly glared at me from time to time. This sucked. I almost started to feel sorry for her. Almost.

"Don't you think you're going too far?" Eric once asked me bitterly.

"Not at all."

"What you do is wrong. I'm not the only one thinking that. Right guys?"

Both Anthony and Kadir just looked down. They did not feel like talking and I clearly understood why. They were playing with fire. Who would they choose? Eric or me?

"Well, Louis and Aisha haven't really said anything good about her so far." Anthony mumbled. His brown eyes shifted towards Kadir, who was not saying anything. We eagerly waited for his answer but Kadir simply shrugged. No answer was an answer as well.

"Come on Eric, you don't give a damn about her. You're just worried about Christian. If I were you, I'd hope they start to hate each other. The freak is a burden to you anyways." I reminded Eric but he did not want to hear any of this, despite knowing that it was true. He could not be mad at me, since he was not ready to admit that I was right but deep down he knew it.

Alexy really was not happy about what I did but she did not try to interfere. Sometimes she even admitted that the freak deserved it. When she came to visit after school, she often gossiped about the freak. She and the freak just were not meant to get along. I mean, the freak told Alexy to go to hell. Obviously Alexy hated her. Who tells someone to go to hell without a reason besides being jealous?

Aside from that, our relationship was going well. I spent most of my time with Alexy. At school we always had lunch together. In the evening we went out on dates and at night we would share a bed together.

Alexy always wanted to come to my place. She did not seem to like her own home that much. Actually, she seemed to hate it. When I asked her about it, she did not want to talk about it and I did not mean to push her but honestly, I was still worried. Here and there I tried to bring up the conversation until eventually she decided to explain what was going on.

"It's just that we have some financial problems. My parents jobs don't really pay well. I try to help them but it's not enough. I guess I'd need to win the junior tournament in Seeker, in order to pay back our loan." She smiled gently but I knew that it was just a facade. She tried to act strong. She tried to pretend that it did not bother her. I believed her.

I held her tightly in my arms and promised to help her out no matter what. Easier said than done. Even I knew that I was just spouting nonsense. What could I even accomplish all by myself? Unlike Anthony or Kadir, I did not work a part-time job or anything like that. Still, Alexy did not have to know about that. As long as she felt safe around me, it did not matter. I was going to give her the hope she had long lost. Besides, I had a feeling that winning the junior tournament was not much of an obstacle for her after all.

To come back to the main topic, everything was going smoothly for a while until one day I made the mistake of acting in front of Christian. Initially I did not think about it. Somehow I ended up in the same group as the freak in English together with Christian, Bella and Louis. Do not ask me how we ended up in this group. Anyways, we had some trouble. I was not in the mood to work with the freak and neither was anyone else, besides Christian maybe.

Luckily the groups were separated from each other. Our group worked in the classroom, where we usually had history. Anyways, the freak did not try to work with us. She stayed quiet the entire time and simply checked her phone every few seconds, as the rest of us tried to work on the tasks. I would have left her alone but Bella got mad at some point and snapped at her.

"Leave the freak alone. A stupid bitch like her will only slow us down anyways." I pointed out. Bella was not happy however. Her brown eyes blandly glared at the freak with a touch of rage.

"You must think you're so beautiful for stealing my earrings. Can you even do anything else besides copying others?" Bella and the freak had the same golden earrings. For some reason I had a feeling that the freak did in fact have them first but I did not say it. Instead I eagerly put down my pencil and waited for the freak to finally react but nothing happened.

"What is it? Are you deaf? I'm talking to you!" Bella suddenly began pulling the freak by her hair, who started to silently scream because it hurt her. I let Bella do as she pleased while nobody tried to interfere. However, I could tell that Christian was struggling. His entire body was trembling and the muscles in his arms were cramping. He wanted to say something but he was just too anxious. His entire body was showered in sweat and his breath was unsteady.

As the freaks cries started to become louder, Bella acted even rougher. At some point I had a feeling that she was enjoying it, despite the freak trying so hard to get rid of her. Tear after tear was running down the freaks face. Her face was crippled by ugly snot. It sounded as if a cat was dying. I joyfully watched Bella do as she pleased but then I suddenly heard a loud noise. Bella stopped. Louis had gotten up and slammed his big hand on the table. His expression told me that he was furious and scared at the same time. Louis probably did not know what he was doing either until he looked Bella in the eyes.
