"You're dating Christian?"

"Yes."

"I don't like this."

"And since when does your opinion matter?"

The first round of the junior tournament had come to an end. For now all Siren and I could do was waiting for the second round to begin. She said that it did not make a lot of sense to train, while we did not know what roles I would play. In short that meant we had to wait for the rest of my team. That led to us having a lot of time on our hands. I spent the first hour tutoring her but as for the second hour we decided to play some other games than Seeker. To my demise however I continued losing against her, even though she had never played most of the games before.

Since the atmosphere changed into something more quiet, it became easier to talk to her. Besides, I found out about her dating scheme, so of course I used that to much advantage. While she was busy beating my ass in my favourite game, I carefully took the first step and asked her directly about what was going on between her and Christian.

"Christian is my friend."

"Your friend? It didn't sound like this, when he asked you why you didn't say anything, when Bella pulled my hair. Besides, if I remember correctly, you said something about this being my own fault, which basically meant that what happened to Christian had been his own fault as well."

Game over. Siren had beaten me easily. I should have known better than to challenge her. In the end I didn't even manage to get a single hit on her. My character in game looked absolutely miserable. Seriously, my entire body began shivering, just from looking at the game over screen.

"How come you even know about this?! Weren't you unconscious after Louis slammed your head on the table?"

"What the fuck are you talking about? Louis never slammed my head on the table."

I sighed, annoyed and yet embarrassed by that entire conversation. No matter what I tried, I just could not understand her. I had come to realise that Sarah had been the more competent one. Siren on the other hand loved making everything more complicated than necessary.

"Forget it. We'll talk about this later. Fact is, you don't even like Christian!"

"How would you know?"

"Because you hate everyone."

"That's a lie! There are a lot of people that I like!"

"Really? Who? Name one.!"

"There is Rosie and Oscar and uncle Raymon."

"Who?!"

Siren's expression changed from confused to embarrassed in a matter of seconds. I noticed how her cheeks flushed once she realised the mistake she had made. She began biting her lower lip as if she had said something she was not supposed to before she let out a long and loud sigh.

"Of course you wouldn't know who I'm talking about. After all you only got to meet them at the school festival. I mean Samira, Oz and Otis."

"Hold up! You're telling me all the SOS-5 members were at our school festival?!"

"Well yeah. After all Simon, Rosie and Oscar went to our school as well."

Honestly, I was too flabbergasted to speak. Siren was the kind of friend that would just randomly dumb a bunch of lore on you and refuses to elaborate. My brain was not capable of processing all this information at once. That was why I hit my pinky toe on the edge of the table, as I tried to get up after my defeat. It hurt. It really did. Believe me when I tell you that I was holding back tears.

"Weakling." Siren suddenly whispered underneath her breath.

I shot her a glance that told her to better be quiet before I would make her feel the same way. Her response was an obviously mischievous grin. That was it. I was ready to attack her. I tried to approach her from behind but Siren turned around just in time and with a swift motion she held me by the collar and pushed me down on the floor.

I felt all her weight sitting on the lower half of my torso. Even if I tried, I could not move. The situation I was in had been similar to the spring fair but this time I was not frightened. Siren was not trying to kill me. I could tell by looking at her eyes. They might have looked dead but somewhere in the dark was a burning flame. It was the warmth that made her a human, despite all her flaws.

"Christian wouldn't like to see this."

"Funny. I think Alexy wouldn't like this either."

Alexy. Of course she would not. Alexy already hated Sarah for what she did. How was I supposed to ever explain this situation to her, especially since lately she had been acting strange. She said that I was the one who did not understand her but I could not shake the feeling that there was not anything to understand to begin with.

In that moment I really wanted to talk to Sarah about it. Why did she tell Alexy to go to hell? What did she gain from it? Even though I was scared, I could not help but feel guilty for everything.

I was ready to drop the question but suddenly someone swung the door to my room open without even knocking.

"Hey Tyson, I saw the shoes at the door. Do you have a visitor or-"

Out of all the people in this world, why did it have to be David and why did he have to see us like this. His brown eyes widened, as both Sarah and I could not help but stare at him in silence.

"What is going on here?" David asked confused.

"David! It's not what it looks like! I can explain!" I tried to interfere but I was out of breath. I had no idea how to explain this situation. Someone once told me that you could actually die from a high blood pressure. I guess the end was near for me.

"Oh my god, is that you David? It's been a while. How have you been doing?" Sarah's voice echoed through my ears. I was too stunned to speak. Without a warning Sarah got up and strolled innocently towards David, as if she had not been sitting on me just a second ago.

The worst part about all this however was the fact that I had no idea since when David and Sarah knew each other. They even shared a hug to greet each other, something David only did when he had been close to a person. In confusion I arched an eyebrow at David but he simply shrugged. Even Sarah did not get why I reacted this way. There was a bright red question mark written all over her ugly face.

"What's wrong? Have you already forgotten about the time when Sarah and I were in detention together? Seriously, next time someone calls you the smartest guy alive, I will just laugh at them. I can't believe you were even the one who got us both out of there."

I did what?

"So you really forgot?! And I thought you were being rude to me all this time because of something I did to you! You wouldn't believe what your stupid brother did to me, David!"
