We did not have a whole lot of time on our hands. Whoever was following Alexy, must have been close by. As much as it hurt me to see Alexy like this, I had to push her to get up. Besides, I did not feel well about being outside at this time of the day either.
Their footsteps echoed silently right behind us. When we started to hurry, they began to hurry as well. It was as if not a human but rather a cat was following us. No matter how often I turned around, I could not see anyone. Just who was following her?
As the night set in, Alexy followed me back to our house. I held her hand tightly to keep it from shaking but then I realised how warm it was. It reminded me of an autumnal evening where I would sit around a warm bonfire. Those flames would dance around like a beautiful harmony.
The moment we closed the door behind us, Alexy fell to the ground. Her breath was unsteady and heartbreaking. I held her in my arms to calm her down. Even though the lights were still out, I noticed how red and puffy her gorgeous brown eyes were from all the crying.
"Are you fine now?" I asked, once she got back control over her own body.
"I can't believe that you have to see me like this. I'm so damn sorry Tyson."
Time seemed to stretch in this quiet room. Her expression was a mix of relieve and vulnerability. She buried her round face in the crook of my neck, as I pressed my lips against her curly brown hair and breathed in the yet not familiar scent.
"It's not your fault. I'm grateful that you called me. If anything were to happen to you, I wouldn't know what to do with myself."
We silently looked into each others eyes. The space between ours narrowed, as our breaths synchronised. Just for a second our fingertips brushed. My hands were trembling ever so slightly, as I yearned to bridge the distance that had kept us apart.
"I never noticed how beautifully brown your skin is." Her thumb gently brushed my skin. With a tender heart I held her hand pressed against my left cheek.
"You must think I'm a bother to you, right?" She asked with a bittersweet undertone.
"What really bothers me right now is the fact that we're still talking and not using our mouths for something more convenient."
"Don't lie to me. I made you run after me in the middle of the night." Once again, the tears kept falling. Her feelings were as sincere as the wind. I hated seeing her like this. It made realise how little I knew about her. No matter how close we might have gotten, some things just stayed unspoken.
"Alexy, please look at me. Do I look like a monster to you? You can always talk to me, no matter what."
"But-"
"No but. I'll be there for you. I promise."
I wanted to hold Alexy for a while longer. I wanted her to look into my eyes just adoringly as I looked into hers. I wanted to be the only one for her. My love for her was strong and I did not dare to hide it. Every time we touched, my skin began burning. It was as if she had cast a spell on me.
As I enjoyed the beauty of our special moment however, we were suddenlyinterrupted by the doorbell. Who would even ring the doorbell at this time? It could not have been the guy that followed her. I glanced at the television that was connected to the camera outside and let out a long sigh, as I realised who was waiting for me in the darkness. Hair dyed as black as the night. The ears pierced. His ocean blue eyes directly stared at the camera with a mischievous touch to them.
"Shit, it's Tristan. Alexy, I need you to go to my room. If Tristan finds out you're here, we'll be in trouble."
Alexy calmly nodded and then ran down the corridor, where she quickly hid in my room. With a tender heart I opened the door and instantly hid behind it, which was not a good choice because now I had no place to flee to. Without saying a single word, Tristan attacked. He hugged me tightly, without even caring about the fact that he must have probably broken at least ten of my rips.
"Bad hiding spot." He announced, his voice as crisp as always.
"What was I supposed to do?! You're faster than me anyways. Why are you even here Tristan?" Tristan finally freed me from his embrace. The silver cross pendant of his necklace annoyingly got stuck on my shirt.
Tristan did not answer. Instead he played around with the black ring around his left index finger. I had never seen this ring before. He must have gotten it just the other day.
"I was wondering if I could crash at your place. I don't mind sleeping on the couch either. David will kill me, if I sleep in his bed again."
"Actually, it's not a good time right now. Sorry Tristan, I kind of have stuff to do." I glanced at the door to my room. Good, Alexy was not curious enough to do anything stupid. For a second I had gotten rather worried.
"In the middle of the night? You're probably just going to watch Siren's stream anyways. Why would you- oh." He stopped in the middle of the sentence and eyed me curiously. I raised an eyebrow, as I could not understand why he was suddenly smiling like a kid finally getting their candy.
"What?"
"It's okay dude. We all have some weird kinks. It's better than being into feet."
"That's enough! Get out of here!" For a second I was too stunned to speak. I understood what Tristan meant by those words and yet I could not believe he would think of me like this. Why did everyone think of me as a perverted stalker?
I pushed Tristan out of the door and slammed it close in front of his face. Once I got to my room, Alexy already waited for me. She was laying down on my bed, her feet up in the air. She probably did not intend for it to look as seductively as it did. Then again, I felt as though Alexy's mere existence was seducing me already.
"So... You actually have a Siren fetish?"
She too now?!
You might think what I did was a bit harsh but in that moment I just felt like grabbing the red pillow laying on my chair and chucking it at her head, without feeling the need to apologise.
"I'll sleep on the couch." I groaned, as I left my own room. Alexy took a few seconds before she came back to her senses and realised that I was serious.
"Wait! That was a joke! Come on Tyson, don't be like this! You know I didn't mean in that way! Tyson!" Alexy begged jokingly but I was already gone.
