"Shit." That was all I could think about in that moment. Why did my brother not wake me up in the morning? It wasn't as if we were going to entirely different schools. Because of him I missed my bus and now I had to run all the way to school. If I were lucky, I would barely make it in time.

I rushed through the streets with lightning speed. Every second counted. The floor was a bit wet around the corners. I almost tripped and fell to the ground. Luckily I did not lose my balance. I just continued to run until I made it to the front gate of the school. That was when I met her for the first time. A brown rose in front of a golden tree. Her curly dark hair was dancing to the rhythm of the wind. Our eyes only met for a second but this second lasted for an eternity. I lost myself in those beautiful brown eyes of hers that were decorated with salty tears. This was the moment I realised that I had fallen in love with the girl by the tree. Her name was Alexy.

-

I remember how the rays of sunlight fell in through the window. It was the kind of beautiful scenery you would only see in movies. The classrooms were empty and quiet. It was a moment of sincerity and rest. Student after student entered the school building. Sometimes alone, sometimes in pairs and sometimes in groups. The gardening club was already taking care of the flowers. They ran across the entire schoolyard just so they could water every last plant.

The track team did its daily morning run. They made it their goal to greet every teacher they would meet along the way. It was not that warm anymore. A cool breeze was a pleasant visitor. The carefree atmosphere made the significance of the moment apathetic.

The more meaning a memory holds, the less momentous it will seem in the future. - ON FRIENDSHIP by Tina Arthur

"You're early Tyson." I heard a voice bring me back to reality. I looked away from the window and instead focused on the doorframe, where Alexy was standing confidently.

"Would you rather I'd be late?"

"Come on now, I didn't mean it that way. I just thought you wouldn't make it today because of the game last night."

"You've got to have more trust in me Alexy. I did watch the entire game and I woke up early today. Easy."

"If you say so but just so you know, I won't wake you up, if you fall asleep in class again."

"Alright. I've got Anthony for that. By the way, have you seen him?"

Alexy just shrugged but then we heard some noise coming from the corridor. I got up from my seat and followed after Alexy. Speaking of the devil, we found Anthony at the end of the corridor together with Aisha. I could already tell what was going on. A crowd had gathered around the two of them. We barely even managed to get past it.

"Aisha ma chérie, je suis désolé! I didn't mean to cheat on you with Mishka! She was the one that invited me over!" Anthony was basically down on his knees, while Aisha just glared at him disgustedly. She turned towards her two friends Bella and Laura but they just rolled their eyes. Well, at least Laura did. In a swift motion the three of them turned around and decided to leave.  Bella however stayed for a bit longer. As the angel she was, she apologised to Anthony and asked if he was alright. The moment she realised that there was nothing to worry about, she smiled gently before she followed after her friends. Bella was lovely. Everything about her really. Her small nose, her fairy skin, her golden leaf style hairband.

Once the crowd disappeared, Alexy and I helped Anthony up. His hands were dirty from touching the floor. I gave him a handkerchief to clean them up. Why did he always have to get into trouble like this? Alexy scolded him for cheating on Aisha but Anthony did not want to hear anything from Alexy. He instantly shifted his focus towards me. His brown eyes took the form of puppy eyes and I was quite sure that he was going to cry.

"Mishka? Really? Eric will kill you, if he finds out about it."

"Mon dieu, I don't need you to judge me as well monsieur know-it-all. Neither Eric nor Christian have to know about this." He commented with the most French accent I had ever heard from him.

"I'm not judging you. I'm just reminding you that it would be better for you to stay away from Mishka."

Anthony sighed. He knew just as well that I was right but he did not want to accept it. Instead he rolled his eyes and decided to keep quiet. Anthony was not a bad guy. Sometime he just forget to think before taking an action. It was a habit that he was proud of.

I had been in my own world, thus I forgot about Alexy. When my focus finally shifted from Anthony to Alexy, I noticed her silently staring at a flyer that was hung up on the innocent white wall. The flyer had been an invitation to the junior tournament in Seeker, a game that took the world by surprise. The tournament was hosted by the number one team in the world, SOS-5. With the price money being set at five million, everyone dreamed of winning the tournament.

"Are you interested in the tournament?" I asked Alexy curiously. Her gaze did not shift away from the flyer. To be honest, it was as if she had been hypnotised.

"Kind of. I just didn't think it would become such a big deal." She mumbled.

"Say Tyson, you're obsessed with Siren, the fifth member of SOS-5, aren't you?"

Usually everyone would have been embarrassed and denied such an accusation. It was only human to act that way but when I was with Alexy, that part of me that had been human, would simply leave my body. Neither logic nor mind could work, when she was around.

"I am. Why?"

"If you were to find out who is hiding behind her mask, how would you react?"

"Depends. How would you expect me to react?"

Silence. Anthony did not even notice that we were still standing at the exact same spot as before. He simply walked ahead, as he might have been searching Eric. Since the crowd had already left, it was just Alexy and me now. We were in our own bubble. Not even the noise outside could bother us. All I heard was Alexy's bittersweet voice.

"I think you would hate that person."
