"Wait, my Ronnie?" Reality just hit me like a bus.

He starts to laugh, "Yes, your Ronnie. Now can you answer the question Julie?"

"But my Ronnie is in prison. How could I pick you up if you're in prison?"

"Well, that's the thing. I'm getting released," he says.

It's five in the morning and I'm half asleep. Surely I'm misinterpreting this phone call. He couldn't really be getting out today.. or could he?

"Like now?" I ask, pulling myself up into a sitting position.

"Yes, like now," he starts laughing again. "I'm getting released in an hour, after I fill out some paper work. They told me I could call someone to get a ride. Do you think you can come get me?"

I start to smile like an idiot, "I'll be there, say no more."

"Great," he says, "I'm excited to finally see you after all this time."

I start to tear up a bit. "I actually get to have you back again?" I say in a shaky voice.

"You never lost me, baby. I need to go now, I'll see you in a bit, okay? I love you Juliet," he says calmly.

I smile and pull myself out of bed, "I love you too Ronnie."

I stand there holding the phone against my chest trying to figure out what just happened. Is he seriously coming home today?

I run into the bathroom and quickly throw my brown hair into a ponytail and put on some makeup. I run back into my room and get dressed in a black and white checkered dress.

I'm ready in about thirty minutes, then I quickly run out to my car and head to the prison.

The prison is about forty minutes out of town, so I'm driving as fast as I can without killing someone.

I pull into the visitors section of the prison and wait outside. My anxiety starts to get the best of me, so I pull out a pack of cigarettes.

"I know this is bad for me," I say to myself as I light the cigarette. It's been months since I've smoked, but I really needed it.

I look over at the mountains and stare at the different curves. It all interests me so much that I almost forget what I was doing. I'm pulled out of my mountain trance when I feel someone come up behind me. I scream as I feel something grab my waist.

"Mother fucker!" I laugh and pull myself into Ronnie's arms.

"I'm sorry," he starts laughing with me.

I pull back and look at him. He's changed, but he's still the Ronnie I remember. His hair has gotten longer and his eyes seem clearer. He's still covered in tattoos just like always.

"Hey look," Ronnie points off into the distance. I turn to look and he slaps the cigarette out of my hand. I start laughing, "what the hell man?"

He laughs with me, "I'm sorry, but you still shouldn't be smoking."

I shake my head and pull him back to me, "I've missed you so much, Ronnie." My eyes start to tear up.

"I've missed you too, Juliet. More than you will ever know," he wraps his arms around me.

We stay like that for a long time, then I take his hand and lead him over to my car.

"So where to?" He asks. I look at my steering wheel, then at him. "I didn't think this far ahead," I start laughing.

"Well I don't have a life yet, so it's up to you right now," he says.

"Alright, let's take you home for awhile," I lock fingers with him.

"Home? I don't have a home," he looks over at me confused.

"My home is your home. We're in this together, remember? I waited two years for you and I am not letting you slip away just yet," I say.

"Sounds like a plan then," he looks over at me. "But wait, I've been wanting to do this ever since I got to this hell hole," he leans over and kisses me.

Here come the emotions, great. He wipes away my tears and looks at me happily, "It's okay, I'm here now."

He's right. It's all okay now.
