"Are you ready?" I ask Ashley as we stand in front of the mirror.

"No," her eyes fill up with tears.

I spent the afternoon helping her prep for the wedding. Her nails were pretty and pink, her bright red hair was gorgeously pinned up, and her beaming white dress flowed down to her shiny, white heels. She was prettiest bride I had ever seen.

"Ashley, you're beautiful," I tell her, "Craig is one lucky man."

That's when I felt my eyes tear up, Craig was mine at one point. Now he's getting married to someone else. Someone who has hated me ever since I met her. Someone who I now consider to be my best friend.

"It's time," Victoria enters the room and informs us.

We left the room and made our way to the chapel doors. It was time.

"Juliet," Ashley grabs my hand as we walk through the church, "I'm sorry I was so mean to you. Craig was your boyfriend."

"Ashley, sweetheart, it's time to let it go. You're about to get married to the man of your dreams. I'm happy, you're
happy, it's time to let it go," I squeeze her hand, "we're best friends now."

I felt better after she had apologized and I was ready to walk through those doors as her bridesmaid. I was okay with their marriage.

"Alright, let's go," Allison pulls me through the chapel doors with the other bridesmaids.

I walked down the isle with Allison, glancing around at the guests. It was exciting to be a bridesmaid and I felt amazing.

But then I looked forward and saw Craig. He was standing there with his hands gently pressed together. He was so handsome, dressed in his deep black suit. I could feel myself melting in my heels.

This was supposed to be my day. I was going to walk down the isle and join Craig up there at the alter. I could feel myself shaking and turning pale. God help me if I pass out in this church.

I turned my attention toward the left and glanced at all the groomsmen. I examined all of them while I walked until I came to TJ.

He was gorgeous standing there alongside the other men. All of them were handsome, but he definitely stood out as the best.

We locked eyes and that was it. I forgot about Craig. I forgot about everything going on in the world. All I could think about was TJ and his glowing beauty.

On my day I will walk down the isle and join TJ at that alter. He was so gorgeous and I craved his presence next to me.

I desired nothing more than to go stand by his side and hold onto him, but I was here for Ashley, and I was her bridesmaid.

I stood on the stage and looked out at the guests. I could feel Craig's eyes burning onto me, but I kept my focus forward. Ashley was on her way out.

Her hair seemed to shine brighter as she walked down that isle. She was gorgeous and I never wanted to take my eyes off of her. The rest of the guests couldn't agree more.

She joined Craig up on that stage and her eyes gleamed as she looked at her fiancé. His eyes didn't gleam the same way when he looked at her though. He seemed bitter and sad.
