BENNY knocked on the door, waiting for an answer with the suitcase in hand.
The same door he used to enter multiple times in his younger days.
If Benny didn't love me enough, he would've flushed everything like mom wanted to.
"I have to flush this-" Leslie spat out, standing up from the chair.
Benny put one hand on the suitcase. "You cant."
"I cant? Who the fuck cares about Rue's feelings-"
"Nah...you cant, Leslie. It's not about her feelings, it's about the person's feelings she got it from."
"Where can she possibly get this from?"
Benny and Leslie were somewhat close in high school. They had multiple classes together and sometimes hung out during lunch.
So when their kids ended up in the same kindergarten class, the family bond finally came together.
Leslie would do anything for the twins, and unfortunately, Benny would do anything for my dumbass too.
Laurie opened the door, looking at a now taller Benny in front of her.
"Gain's?" She questioned.
"Long time no see...wanna lemme in?"
She hesitated opening the door. "And if I dont?"
"Cmon, Laurie...is that what you really wanna do? On this nice afternoon-" Benny raised his brow.
"You got some explaining to do, Gain's." Laurie opened the door, letting Benny inside.
The suitcase dragged behind him, sitting next to him on the couch.
Laurie sat across from him silently.
The two haven't seen each other since Sevyn and Zero were starting school.
"What's going on?"
Benny lit the joint that hung behind his ear. "You need to drop that bounty."
"And why's that?"
"Because what you're looking for is right here." He pointed to the suitcase.
The color from Laurie's face disappeared. "How-"
"Why are you selling to teenagers? Especially letting teenagers sell your products, do you know how stupid that is?"
"I- she didn't look like one..." Laurie lied.
Benny snickered and shook his head. "Still a lier I see...Laurie, she's my daughter's friend and a drug addict. And you gave her what she wanted."
Laurie took a sip from her smoothie. "You know...their mom has been looking for the twins."
