"WHAT about that one?" Ashtray suggested.
"No, too thick." Sevyn shook her head.
"This one?" He pointed at another necklace in the glass case.
"Nah..."
Ashtray sighed and threw his arms up in defeat. "I give up. You're too picky."
Sevyn furrowed her brows. "No, i'm not."
"You definitely are, a hundred percent. We've looked at almost every display in this store and you've found nothing. Oh, and this the third store."
Sevyn was still stuck on what to get Maddy for her birthday and the party was tonight.
Honestly, she wasn't even supposed to be invited but Maddy basically threatened Cassie that it'll be horrible if the Gain's girl wasnt there.
Sevyn was the last person Cassie thought about inviting, she was more worried about if Nate was coming.
Her stomach couldn't help but turn to the thought of Nate showing up.
They havent spoken since the argument in his bedroom that night.
Ashtray's eyes caught a shimmer in the last display case and walked over to it.
"Sev..." He motioned for her to come over.
Sevyn stared at her phone, trying to find another jewelry shop nearby. "If it's another basic chain then no, Ash."
"Get the hell off your phone and look."
She rolled her eyes, walking over to the case and her eyes widened.
"It's beautiful..."
"Right?" Ash agreed with a stupid grin.
"She'd kill me for getting this..."
"Why?"
"Too expensive...and she knows where the money's coming from for it..."
Ashtray looked at the chain then back at Sevyn. "It's pretty though, right?"
Sevyn nodded. "It'd look beautiful on her..."
"I'll split it with you."
Her neck snapped to face Ash. "Huh?"
"It can be a gift from the both of us...You know, you and Mad's are the main female influences i've had in my life. Maddy has taught me a lot as well and...and I wanna repay her."
Sevyn couldn't help become emotional from how her brother spoke of the two, she wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
