5 - Runners Potential

2 more weeks passed by and it was days away from me being here for a month meaning I wouldn't be the new kid for much longer thank lord people still call me greenie maybe that will fade when whoever they send next arrives finally, we were all waiting for it, could be an amount of hours or days but two days would make me being here for a month so I didn't really care, I headed down the tree house early and to breakfast I walked in before Newt shocking Minho "Oh my god you are up before Newt and Thomas a miracle" he laughed I laughed "oh shush can I girl not get up early" I chuckled sitting down as Frypan placed a plate in front of me "Thanks Fry" I said beginning to eat as Alby entered surprised to see me "Y/N how nice to see you up early and looking good, slept well?" he asked I nodded swallowing food before speaking "Yeah I did actually I thought i'd get up and just help Jeff with stuff in the Medjack hut today" I said with a smile "I see very good" he said nodding "What's the plan for you guys today then?" I asked them "Mapping more of the maze" Minho said as Alby nodded along side "Well have fun and stay safe please" I reminded them before I set off to the medjack hut to help.

I arrived greeted at the door with a warm welcoming smile "Hey Jeff" I said smiling back "Hey kiddo good to see ya, welcome to the club" he said embracing me he led me inside showing me the main things we kept inside the hut and how to do basic things letting me practice the dressing on himself and poking a pillow with needles for practice I was actually pretty good but I was unsure as to where I had learnt it all felt so natural to me but he showed me some more stuff and he went over the basics of what the medjacks actually do and it helped me.

Later on in the day I went to help Newt with Garden work because I still like doing it, it was my place of pure relaxation "Hey bud throw us a shovel" I chuckled at him "sure bud" he chuckled back handing one over to me, we got the gardening done just as Fry walked over "Hey guys looking good, we are all at the campfire if you would like to join us" he said invitingly we both nodded "Sure we'll just put this lot away" I said as he left, Newt didn't let me go to the forest alone because of what happened last time which I found really sweet, we put the stuff away before heading over to them.

We were all sat there talking and having a good time when someone had an idea "Hey guys I have an idea" Chuck said, Thomas looked at him "Oh what's the idea" Thomas asked "We should show Y/N the hangout spot it is nice and hot out today!" Chuck said everyone liked the idea and they led me to the spot it was a cliff type area with a lake the boys wasted no time jumping.

I hide making sure to change my clothing to more water suitable item and I walked to the edge hearing the boys cheer me on "Go on Y/N" Thomas yelled up I took a run and did a flip into the water landing not too far below Thomas, I decided to scare him I grabbed his leg pulling him under before submerging bursting with laughter the others also laughing as well, we all spent the next few hours having fun and messing around before deciding to head back because I need to change again, so we headed back and I went to the tree house to change before heading back down to the campfire to warm and dry up, we all sat there talking about stuff and how each other were doing and it was a nice time, Fry even cooked outside as well it was that nice of an afternoon which was really peaceful.

The others decided to play some games while myself and Jeff went to do some more work in the medjack hut, we got to talk more which was pretty nice, I obviously couldn't say too much about myself as I had barely any memories but Jeff was sweet he said it didn't matter because I can start new ones with everyone here which I agreed with, we had worked pretty hard today and very well as a team which I love, we finished things and decided to chill before making our way to the tree house because he offered to help me decorate a bit which was nice of Jeff we had finished decorating when we both noticed the sun starting to set and realised the runners hadn't returned yet but then we both saw Gally run in and bolt down there seeing the concerned expression on his face.

"Gally?" Jeff said as we reached him "Gally where is the other boys?" I asked him now looking concerned "we all got split up, a griever jumped between u and they told me to just make sure I get out" he said panic toned that's when we saw Dan bolt his way out "Another cut me off" he said "it split us up and Alby i'm pretty sure tripped and hurt his leg and Minho grabbed him" Dan said, it was now dark and that's when we saw them but Minho was struggling with an unconscious from blood lost Alby, the door started making noises "They aren't going to make it" Dan said I looked at Jeff "You can't" he said "Jeff i'm the only shot" I said before bolting to Minho getting Alby inside before the doors shut, "Damn you have runners potential Y/N" Minho said as we entered the medjack hut.
