21 - Panic Attack

Teresa's Pov

I woke up in the morning after carrying Y/N back here she was really tired after hide n seek, she was still sound asleep curled up in a ball, I noticed the blanket had fallen off her so I gently picked it up covering her up, before quietly leaving.

I walk over seeing the others at the campfire talk together "Morning Ter" Tara said greeting me nudging to the space next to her for me, so I took a seat next to her "Morning sis, sorry we weren't awake to talk last night" I say she nods "It's fine don't worry about it you guys needed the rest" she says.

We talk for a good half an hour being the second and third awake throughout the whole glade, of course Alby was as he was of course leader but he then came over joining us "Morning ladies" he spoke "Hey, Alby, good morning how are you" Tara asks him as he takes a seat "I am good thank you, how about you guys, did you sleep well Teresa" he asked I nod "Yeah I did I left Y/N up there as she was really tired" I explained as we just talked about what we did yesterday.

The morning went by fast and, I decided to go back to the tree house to check on Y/N as she had been asleep a while, when I got up there I gently poked my head up noticing that she was now awake, reading the book I had been reading the day she was on me.

Y/N Pov

I wake up noticing I am gone I get up and get ready before I sit back down on the couch glancing over at the book Teresa was reading, when I woke up on her lap just the other day, I pick it up opening it to the start and begin reading it for myself, really getting into the story from the words I was reading, I got half way through completely locked in on reading it that I hadn't heard or noticed the hatch open and Teresa poke her head in or even sit down until she spoke softly.

"Enjoying the book?" she asked, I looked up now seeing her there "Oh hi sorry I saw it and thought I would give it a look" I say she smiles at me I then return the smile on my own face, "It's fine, I just came to make sure you were ok, you were sleeping a long time" she said softly, "do you maybe want to read the book with me?" I ask her she nods "sure I have nothing better to do with the day" she says, so that is what we did so we spend the next few hours reading together in the tree house finishing just an hour before the sun would set.

"That was a good book" I say to her she smiles and nod, stretching her arms "Yeah it was, I am glad you enjoyed it" she said warmly smiling, walking over to the deck looking out over the whole entire  glade, I join her as we watch everyone doing work and playing tag together for the next hour before we noticed them head over to the campfire and all sit down, we choice to go join them as well.

"We should go down there" Teresa says softly I nod and open the hatch to the ladder allowing her to go first "After you" I say letting her reach half way before climbing myself closing the hatch behind me, we head over to the campfire and join the group as they are talking, we take a seat gently.

"Let's talk about the maze and stuff" Thomas suggests and everyone nods, so we talk about the glade, why we think we're here and what is outside that could be so bad that they are using grievers to keep up in, for the next few hours.

"No.. Has anyone thought maybe they are protecting us, and their plans for the grievers failed and they attacked anyone" Newt says, Thomas shrugs "but why only put three girls in here with a bunch of boy?" he askes, Teresa and Tara adjust themselves feeling uncomfortable "maybe.. they wanted only a small amount here.." Teresa said Tara nodded "maybe to see how you boys would react" she said.

"Maybe, Y/N you are awfully quiet what do you think" Newt looks over at me , the others also glance over "earth to Y/n" Thomas says waving his hand across my face "huh? What?" I say zoning back in "You ok, you seemed out of it?" Tara asked me I nodded "yeah I am fine, just zoned out, I think i'm still tired I haven't really slept much" I say everyone nodding.

I get up from my seat going to head back to the tree house, before I walk away I feel a hand grip mine from being me I turn seeing Teresa standing there "Are you definitely ok?" she asks me concerned about me, I nod, then she lets go of my arm return to the group, and I walk back to tree house.

I get there when the flashbacks start to replay inside my head, I bite my lip 'If she keeps screaming they are going to find us', 'It's all your fault' followed by the slam of Newt hitting the wall being knocked out I pace around the tree house as more and more flashbacks begin to replay.

Tears stream down my face as they finally end, I then find myself sat in the corner rocking forward and backwards unable to control my breathing, I'm having a full blown really bad panic attack, "N-No.. no... no.." I repeat over and over, I then hear the hatch open and footsteps race towards me, it's Teresa.

"Hey, hey, woah, look at me" she says crouching down "I.. I can't breathe" I mutter, she pulls me onto her lap, rocking me back and forward to help calm me, I soon enough fall asleep.
