As East descended the stairs into the lobby, his mind buzzed with a mix of contentment and concern. Meeting his brother, Chris, at the nearby Starbucks, he couldn't shake the weight of the conversation they needed to have.

"Make it quick, my wife is happy with me. I need to keep this up," East's words carried a sense of urgency as he addressed Chris.

Chris chuckled, sensing the gravity behind his brother's words. He was glad to see East in high spirits but understood the underlying pressure to maintain the newfound harmony in his marriage.

"Malik's back in town. He's been spotted. Just wanted to let you know we'll handle it," Chris informed him, handing East his coffee as they received their drinks from the barista.

East nodded, the mention of Malik stirring a mix of emotions within him. The past had a way of resurfacing when least expected, and he knew the importance of dealing with it swiftly and decisively.

"I'm happy you and wifey are good. Keep it up," Chris offered, taking a sip of his own coffee.

As they settled into their seats, East's thoughts drifted to the countless hours they had spent in this very Starbucks, plotting, planning, and dreaming together. But now, with a family of his own, East felt the weight of responsibility more acutely than ever before.

"Remember when we used to come here, brainstorming, planning, picking each other's brains?" East's voice held a hint of nostalgia as he reminisced with his brother.

Chris listened intently, the memories flooding back as they shared a moment of reflection. But East's next words pierced through the nostalgia with a solemnity that demanded attention.

"I'm getting older. I want my family. Move out the way. Gotta hang this shit up, bro. Or I'ma lose my wife and kid," East spoke with a firm resolve, his words echoing with the gravity of his realization.

Chris felt a pang of sadness at his brother's admission, knowing the sacrifices and difficult choices that lay ahead. But he also understood the importance of supporting East in his journey towards prioritizing his family above all else.

"You handle Malik. Move smart and strategically. Play chess, not checkers. I won't be around when it happens. Only call me when you need me, bro. I love you," East's words hung in the air, a testament to the bond they shared and the challenges they faced together.

With a heavy heart, East left his brother in the Starbucks, knowing that their paths diverged in that moment. Chris, fueled by a sense of duty and brotherly love, resolved to finish what needed to be done, even if it meant doing it alone.
