I remember you Prologue

"Tag! You're it Anna!" Skylar yelled with a small giggle as she touched my arm and ran away. I laughed and started running after her. "I'm gonna get you Sky!" I yelled after her. I ran in the summer heat, my long brown hair flowed in the wind. So was Skylar's blonde hair. I kept laughing while running to her. My sides were starting to burn.

She ran around the big Oak tree in the park and I followed. Skylar screamed when she saw I was getting closer and I sent her a smirk as I stretched my hand closer to her arm but while I wasnt paying attention, I tripped over a tree root and landed face first into the warm dirt, ruining my best flower dress.

"Ow" I huffed out while sitting up slowly. I put my back against the tree bark and sat there. I looked down at myself and my dress with covered in dirt along with my shoes. I scraped my knee and my hair had leaves in it. I didnt even have to feel my face to know it was dirty. I felt tears stream down my face but I wasnt making any sound.

"Anna!" I heard Skylar yell in shock. She ran over to me and knelt beside me. Her blue eyes examined me with worry. "You're hurt. Do you want me to get your mom?" she asked me sympathetically. I shook my head. "No. I just need a bandage for my knee" I told her.

She nodded and wiped my tears away with her sleeve. "I dont think I have a bandage" she said sadly while searching her pockets.

"I do. Are you okay?" Skylar and I looked up to see a little boy, around our age, standing over us. He had black, silk like hair, tan skin like me and.......purple eyes??

He knelt down to me and pulled out a Hello Kitty bandage from his pocket. He unwrapped it and placed it carefully on my knee. He looked at me and I looked at him, got dead in my tracks because his eyes were just so mesmerizing. "Thank you" I managed to get out in a soft voice. He smiled, showing his teeth. "You're welcome" he said kindly.

He kindly helped me to my feet and Skylar followed and wiped her dress clean and helped me with mine. Though no matter what, it was still visibly dirty. "Thanks Sky" I said to her with a smile. She smiled back.

I looked back at the boy. "What's your name?" I asked him. He looked at the both of us for a moment before answering. "Caleb. Caleb Hill" he said.

I smiled and held out my name. "Nice to meet you Caleb. My name is Anna Beth. But please call me Anna or Ann" I told him sweetly. He smiled and took my hand in his and shook it lightly. Skylar made the same gesture.

"I'm Anna's best friend, Skylar. Nice to meet you" she said shyly. He did the same thing he did to me. "Its nice to meet the both of you. Anna Beth are you sure you're okay?" Caleb asked.

I nodded. "I'm fine. Thank you. Just need to get clean" I told him honestly. He nodded with a shy smile. "I was gonna take her to her house. Do you wish to come? Her parents are nice. She has a puppy" Skylar said with a smile.

"Sure. If that's okay with Anna Beth" he said while looking at me. "Anna" I corrected him "And of course it's okay with me. Come on" I said happily. I took his hand in mine and lead him to my house which was directly across the street from my house. My house isnt small but it's not huge either. It's big enough to hold a couple, their 7 year old daughter,their 2 year old son and puppy.

We all walked in to my house and Duke, my chocolate lab puppy greeted us happily. I giggled when he jumped up to lick my face. "Down Duke. This is my new friend Caleb. Caleb Hill" I introduced my dog to Caleb. Duke happily licked Caleb's hand and Caleb smiled.

"Anna! Milkies!" I looked up to see my 2 year old brother, Dustin, running to me with a empty bottle in his hand. I rolled my eyes and took it from him. "Dusty, this is my new friend Caleb. Caleb Hill. Say hi" I told my baby brother and he smiled at Caleb and reached out to give him a hug which Caleb wasnt afraid to give. "Hi Caleb" Dustin said with a smile. "Hi" Caleb replied.
