I remember you Chapter 25

Caleb's POV

No one moved. We didn't have the power to. Ms. Woods's stare frozen our bones and if we moved, we would've fell. Ms.Woods's smirk never left her face and she walked up to me with her arms outstretched and before I knew it. She took me in for a heart warming squeeze.

Her perfume was the same as always...lavender. Mr.Woods would buy her the same perfume every time she needed a refill.

"Oh Caleb! Look how you've grown!" She exclaimed happily and pinched my cheeks lightly and placed a kiss on both cheeks. I stood there flabbergasted at her actions. Her smiling face looked to my right and she walked up to Sebastian and ran a hand through his hair.

"And Sebastian! You've gotten so handsome and you don't have your braces anymore! Oh how precious! And who is this beautiful girl beside you?" She asked as she stared at Skylar and cupped her face gently in her hands. "Skylar....my girlfriend" Sebastian breathed out in shock.

"It's so nice to meet you beautiful. I'm Rebecca" she told Sky happily and turned to look at Emily who looked like she was gonna faint at any moment. "Oh Emily darling! You need some food. You look paler than a ghost and I'm sure my sweet Sabrina wouldn't want you to pass out in my care. Come now, to the kitchen" she commanded and took a hold of Emily's free hand and dragged her downstairs while we all followed slowly behind them.

When we entered the kitchen, she lead Emily to a high stool at the kitchen table and went to the cabinets to prepare her a light sandwich. "Why do you care about Sabrina? You hate her choice of lifestyle" Emily growled and glared at the happily energized woman in the kitchen and Ms.Woods stopped on her tracks with her back to us for a moment before turning around to face us.

"I don't hate her....she's my only daughter. My only child that I know is pure at heart. I love my little girl more than life itself. She's my princess" Ms.Woods told us softly with a look of pain in her eyes.

"Then explain why she lives with me and my girlfriend and not with you" I challenged her, standing next to Emily for support as Ms.Woods started to make Em's sandwich.

Ms.Woods sighed and looked at me. "She came to me the night she left and told me what Chase was planning to do to your Anna and I remembered Tess and how she was so harshly taken away from you.....I couldn't let that happen again. So when Sabrina said she had to leave and try to stop it, I agreed because I have too much on my plate to do anything right now. We had to stage a fight for Chase and she packed her things and I drove her a mile away from your home to make it look like she walked away the way. I didn't want to let her go. If she tries to intervene, she'll get hurt and I know she's in the hospital. She called me when you were all sleeping and I've never felt so guilty that my daughter is hurt and I can't be the hero mom she needs because she needs the bad mom cover and it kills me" she cried and stopped making the sandwich to kneel over the counter top and sob into her hands.

I looked at everyone and we all had the sane sympathetic look in our eyes at the scene before us. Skylar was the first to move and she walked up to Ms.Woods and pulled her in for a tight hug and rubbed the back of her head with her hand.

"It's okayy. I believe you" Sky told her and honestly, I believed her too. This woman has given me no reason to not trust her words and I've seen Sabrina's picture of her and her mom in her room and the way she looks at it from time to time.

"So Sabrina knows what Chase is planning and didn't tell us?!" Emily yelled angrily and began to get up but was too lightheaded to keep her weight up and almost fell if I didn't catch her.

"Don't start blaming my little girl. Chase forced her to keep it a secret. If she didn't, you'd all be 6 feet under right now and not infront of me. But since you guys know and she didn't tell you, that's a loop hole. You guys need to stop my son......at all costs. And I mean that. Whatever needs to be done, do it" she told us while pulling away from Skylar who walked back to Sebastian.

"Ms.Woods are you suggesting killing your son?" I asked her softly. This woman has gone through the death of her husband and the disappearance of her first son and she wants us to kill her other one? That's hard to believe. I don't want to hurt this kind woman.

She looked at me with determination and tiredly spoke to me in a calm tone. "If that needs to be done, do it. You won't hurt me. Well of course you will but I'm a strong woman. I can deal with it on my own time. My son is sick and professional help isn't going work. I'm going to say this again, do what needs to be done" she told me and pounded on the counter top with every word and looked to be angry and tired at the same time.

"What do we need to do to end this? We don't even know what's happening exactly" Emily said carefully. Ms.Woods hurriedly finished the sandwich and gave it to Emily who took it gratefully.

"Talk to Sabrina. I'm sure she knows. And Emily?" She called softly and Em looked up at her with her mouth full. "I'm glad that my daughter had fallen inlove with you. You're a great girl. Smart too. Keep making her happy and don't be too angry at her. She was concerned for all your safeties. She did the right thing" she told her with a small smile and moved a strand of brown hair behind her ear.

Emily returned the smile and nodded. "I love her too Ms.Woods. Her happiness is my main focus every day" she told her happily.

I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and I pulled it out to see Sabrina's calling me. I chuckled, "speak of the devil" I joked and answered the phone. "What's up Sabrina?" I asked through the phone.

From the other end, you would think Sabrina was having a panic attack. She was crying hysterically and couldn't even put words together. My main concern there was Anna. "Sabrina what happened?! Are you okay? Is Anna alright?! Breathe girl. Breathe" I exclaimed and that got everyone's attention as they all made their way to me cautiously.

"Come.......back......now.It's....ANNA!" she sobbed and screamed in a panic before the call ended. My heart broke and my body frozen again as I stared at my phone in shock.

"What happened?! Is everyone alright!" Emily asked in concern. "Is my baby okay? I heard a scream" Ms.Woods asked in fear.

"I'm not sure. She was panicking, screaming and crying. Talking about it's Anna. We need to get back. Now. We'll reach you soon Ms.Woods for updates. Good bye" I spoke quickly and we all ran out the front door as Ms.Woods yelled bye after us and we all ran to the van and jumped in.

"DRIVE!" We all yelled at Pierce and in a rush did as he was told. We got to the hospital in about 10 minutes and we all rushed to Anna's room where Sabrina was covering our view of her.

"Sabrina?" I called out of breath. Sabrina sobbed and turned around to face us. Her face was drowning in tears and her eyes were blood shot red and her hand covered her mouth. "Baby? Are you okay?" Emily asked and rushed to her side in a instant. "Did Anna die?!" Sky cried fearfully.

"She's......not......Anna" Sabrina sobbed and fell to her knees and Emily followed her and whispered in her ear to calm her down. "What do you mean that's not Anna? She's right......oh my god" I began to speak until I looked over at the bed where my fiancé slept so soundly. But the woman in the bed was not my fiancé.

"Is that....Tess?" Sebastian asked in shock as he walked next to me. "But it can't be...." I whispered. Vanessa walked to where Anna slept and pulled on a strand of hair that a shade too dark to be Anna's. "It's not a wig guys and she's gotten taller but how?" She whispered and sat in the nearest chair near her and rubbed her temples in thought.

"It can't be Tess. This is obviously the wrong room. When we left, this was Anna's room. Not Tess's" I spoke through gritted teeth. But I knew that my words meant nothing.

That was Tess. It wasn't my fiancé laying there anymore. It was my ex. That dark chocolate curly brown hair flowed the same way I remembered and her face. It was more heart shaped and her defined cheek bones were as beautiful as ever and her soft, naturally plump lips were in a straight frown and her body remained in the same fit athletic way I adored. It was Tess and I could feel my heart drop to my feet and all I wanted to do was cry because all of those old memories came back. The good and the bad and I just wanted to......hug her. Just hug her one more time.

But I want my Anna back more.

"Caleb, I can see it in your eyes that you're lying to yourself. That's Tess in the flesh. It's not Anna in a Tess costume. Our past is back" Emily said through her dry throat as she helped Sabrina up to her feet.

"I have to call Mel. She needs to see this...." Pierce said and started to look for his phone before Vanessa ran to him and grabbed his arms. "No. Then Chase will come too. I don't wanna see him" Vanessa told him with plead.

"Too late Red" we all turned around to see a smirking Chase holding the hand of a scared Melody who so desperately wanted to run into the arms of her brother and sister but Chase held her back.

"Chase let my sister go" Emily growled and handed a very tired and mute Sabrina to Vanessa who held her up. Chase rolled his eyes and pushed Melody to Em's feet roughly before walking over to 'Tess'.

Emily quickly helped Mel up and Melody grabbed her sister tightly and started to cry into her shoulder. I'm assuming she was apologizing because I heard Emily say "it's okay. It wasn't your fault. You didn't know" softly to her sister which only made her cry more.

"What are you doing?! Leave her alone!" Sebastian yelled at Chase who was currently unhooking all the needles and beeps off of 'Tess'. I charged at him and punched him in the nose before he could pick her up from the bed. He was obviously caught off guard and fell back towards the wall, holding his nose in pain.

"Caleb!" Melody yelled and tried to pull me back but I pushed her away. "I'm not letting him touch her. He doesn't deserve it. She's helpless. God only knows what he'd do to her. It may look like Tess but Anna is still in there" I growled angrilly and leaned protectively over 'Tess'.

"Maybe she wants to be with me! She left you once. It won't be hard to leave you again" Chase sneered my way and got up in my face. "She's not leaving when she's unconscious" I spoke more softly but my anger still lingered with every word.

"Caleb" Emily interjected softly. I held a hand up to her but kept my eyes on Chase. "Not now Emily" I growled.

"She's gonna leave with me when she wakes up anyways so why stop me from taking her early?" Chase asked. "Because I don't trust you" I growled.

"Um Caleb" Melody piped up gently to get my attention but again I held a hand up. "Mel I'm busy. Whatever you want to say, it can wait" I annoyingly replied. "But Caleb you need to-" Pierce began speaking and I got so bothered I turned my gaze away from Chase and onto Pierce.

"What? What is so important that I have to be bothered within seconds? I'm trying to keep our Anna safe!" I yelled in annoyance.

Then a familiar soft, silky voice filled my ears and I wish I hadn't heard it cause my heart did 5 flips and I felt myself get nervous like I used to when she and I were still a thing.

"Whose Anna?" I turned around and Tess was wide awake and looked around the room with confusion and when she saw all of us in the room, her eyes went wide and she turned to look up at me and rage filled in those soft, piercing green eyes of hers.

"It's. You" she growled and glared at me before quickly getting up from the bed and walking up to me and before I knew it, her hand swept across my face and I felt a hard sting fill the left side of my face.

"What the hell Anna?!" Skylar yelled and walked up to Tess and turned her to face her but Tess looked at her with confusion. "I'm not Anna. I'm Tess. Who are you?" She scowled and examined Skylar up and down with disgust and with Tess being taller than both Sky and Anna, the scene was pretty funny to watch. Skylar then angrilly slapped Tess across her face with twice as much force she used on me and it caused her to fall on the floor.

"Don't touch her!" Chase exclaimed and hurriedly ran to Tess and picked her up bridal style. "Let her go!" I yelled protectively and made my way to get to Tess before she kicked me in the face, making me stumble back. I would've fell if Sky didnt catch a hold of my arm and pulled me upright.

"Don't touch me" she glared at me, still holding her face in pain. She then looked at Chase and her look softened and she snuggled closer to him. "Take me home Chase. Please" she begged.

Chase smiled and kissed her forehead before smirking at me in victory. "Told you" he laughed and carried Tess away and no one put up a fight. Not even Melody who looked like her heart was ripped out her rib cage and stomped on 20 times.

"Are you okay?" Sky whispered to me. I nodded and balanced myself on Anna's bed while trying to figure out a way to get me out of this nightmare. This didn't happen. It couldn't happen. I fell asleep next to Anna and I'm having a nightmare. That's it. That's the only possible and reasonable explanation for this. I'll just pinch myself and I'll wake up.

I began to pinch my arm repeatedly and I would wince every time and get frustrated when I was still in the same position as I was and Anna was still not here.

"Caleb this isn't a dream. Stop pinching yourself" Vanessa told me sympathetically as Pierce rubbed her back to comfort her. I shook my head vigorously and continued to pinch myself and I closed my eyes tight to prevent my tears from spilling out.

"This. Is. A. Nightmare. I will wake up and we'll all be okay and happy and Anna will be back with the same bright smile she always has on and we'll get married and we'll be happy" I spoke defensively and I rocked myself back and forth while pinching my arm.

Skylar stood my up and slapped my twice and shook me. "Caleb Hill! Snap out of it! What just happened, happened. Anna is........"she trailed on to compose herself and tried to get herself to believe that her best friend is not her best friend anymore.

"She's gone Caleb. She's not coming back. We can't help her........Chase wins" she whispered the last part and leaned herself on me and began to shake as she sobbed and held her tight while letting my tears fall down my face.

"No" Sabrina spoke out with just bravery and confidence. It was a large difference from her mental breakdown and she pulled herself away from Vanessa.

"No?" I asked her confused. "Chase didn't win. He's only making history repeat itself......but I know someone who can help. Someone who has been through this themselves and with their help, WE will win. and this time I can leave the hospital. I just signed my release papers" she explained to us.

"Who? Who can help us get Anna back?" Skylar cried and ran helplessly to Sabrina who held her hands tightly in hers. She looked at me with sympathy before she spoke again.

"The only person I know who can help us. Is my brother" she said and we all just stood her and waited for her to continue because we knew there was more to what she wanted to say.

"We're going to visit Dean" she stated calmly. "Where is he?" Emily asked frantically. Sabrina sighed deeply and ran her hand through her blonde hair.

"In jail" she stated bluntly and walked to her room, probably to change.

Okay so as if no one could tell, I do most of my chapters on my phone so I can't tell whether they're long or short so please bare with me. I just write til I have nothing left to write about. Oh and votes would be lovely, just saying.
