Several days had now passed since the fight at the Vic, and since then Gabby had actually been starting to feel like herself again. But the stress over the situation was still looming over her, but she was continuing to do her best to be positive and cheerful for herself and for Connie . Things had settled down again at the pub...for now, at least.
Gabby began to watch on as she saw kids go back to school, knowing that Connie was soon going to be in their shoes next year, it honestly made her feel funny inside to think that she'd have to leave Connie by herself.
The kids going back to school was a bittersweet sight for Gabby, on one hand, it meant that things were returning to normal, but on the other, it meant that Connie would soon be going to school...by herself.
That thought made her feel strange, as she thought of what it would be like leaving her daughter in someone else's care. She couldn't shake the feeling.
She sighed as she thought of what it would be like for her, to go from seeing her daughter everyday...to only seeing her at certain times of the day because she was at school.
Would Connie be okay? She wasn't going to be there all the time like she had been previously, she wasn't going to be there to watch over her every single day, she was going to be alone in a building with a bunch of strangers, and the thought didn't sit right with her.
She snapped out of her daze and carried on with her shopping, buying some foods she needed for Connie and for her. As she continued with her shopping, her mind continued to wander to questions about Connie starting school, the thoughts just wouldn't leave her head right now.
She knew that the best thing for her to do was to keep doing this shopping, to keep her mind busy with tasks that helped her keep her mind occupied, but the thought of her daughter starting school kept creeping back into her head.
She sighed as she added the last couple of items to her basket, beginning to head towards the till as she tried to stay focused on the here and now, continuing to keep her mind occupied with these tasks she was doing.
It was the only way to stop the thoughts she was having, although she was unsure of whether or not it would continue to work, the thought still remained in the back of her head as she got her wallet out to pay.
she sighed as she finally finished paying, she made her way back to the flat and placed the bags down in her living room. She walked back over to their flat, carrying the bags with her as she set them down in their living room. However, her thoughts continued to plague her as she thought over how Connie was soon going to start school...how she was going to be left with strangers, her mind still filled with worries and questions as she tried to keep her head occupied.
Gabby suddenly ran out of the flat, making her way into the Vic, noticing Fatboy sat down laughing. "Fats..." she spoke with a look of fear on her face.
He stopped laughing as he saw her entering the pub with a look of fear on her face, his expression quickly shifting back to a more concerned one. "Yo, you okay?" he asks with a soft smile, he could hear the fear in her voice...but what was she afraid of?
"I can't stop thinking about Connie going to school next year...just seeing all these kids...i know I'm being dramatic but I don't wanna leave her alone next year..." she stammers, cracking her knuckles as she speaks.
"I know..." he says softly, he could understand her fears...she was a good mother after all, she never wanted to leave her daughter alone in a room full of strangers.
