Gabby was in the park with the twins and Connie, watching on as Fatboy pushed Connie on the swings. Fatboy continued to push his daughter on the swing, a proud and happy smile on his face as he watched her, clearly enjoying herself. It made him so happy to see her happy.
Suddenly, Gabby's phone started to ring in her pocket as he continued to push Connie on the swings. "Hello?" Gabby spoke, puzzled as to who is phoning her.
"Gabrielle?" Her eyes widened in shock in an instant as soon as she heard the voice of the other person speaking on the other line.
Her heart started to beat faster and faster with each passing second as she realised who was speaking.
It was Dan.
Gabby drops her phone, she looks over at Fatboy and stammers. "I'm gonna take the twins to my mums..." she says as she picks up her phone. "Will you be okay here?"
A look of confusion and slight concern appeared on Fatboy's face as she dropped her phone and stuttered out her sentence. He quickly nods in agreement, looking over at her with a worried expression on his face. "Yeah, yeah of course. Take your time, sweetheart." He responds softly, trying to keep his tone as calming as possible.
Gabby quickly composes herself and walks over to her parent's house, banging on the door. Gabby waited impatiently outside of her parent's house, her heart racing and her thoughts racing even faster. *Why was Dan calling her?* She couldn't help but wonder to herself, as she waited for someone to open the door.
Finally, after a moment, the door opened, and Keith was stood on the other side. "Gabby. What's wrong?" He asks, his face falling as soon as he sees the look on her face.
"Can you take the twins?" She asks, slapping her phone off her hand. "I've got errands to run" she pushes the pram into the house, feeling her body shake slightly.
Keith raises an eyebrow slightly at her request, feeling slightly puzzled and surprised by it. However, he takes note of her body shaking slightly and quickly nods in agreement, understanding that something was wrong and that she needed to leave.
"Yeah...of course." He says softly, watching as she pushes the pram into the house...watching the look on Gabby's face.
"Thank you." Gabby quickly runs into the gardens and calls Dan back, her body shaking. "Hello?" she stammers into her phone.
"Gabby." Dan's voice responded back on the other line, just hearing his voice sent a shiver down Gabby's spine.
"We need to talk" Dan's voice said, his voice sounding serious and serious.
"You know about the twins, don't you?" she stammers, biting her nails and shaking.
There was a moment of silence on the other line, before Dan responded back. "Yes, I know. That's why we need to talk." His voice sounded serious and serious, which only made Gabby feel even more nervous.
"Okay..." Gabby furrows her brows. "What about?" she suddenly questions, her leg bouncing up and down.
About us, about the kids, about what happened...just everything." Dan's response on the other line sounded vague and cryptic, which only made Gabby even more nervous and on edge.
"I'm married, Dan...there is no us anymore." She sighs, leaning back into the bench.
There was a short silence on the other line as Gabby says that, before Dan finally spoke up again. "I know you're married, Gabrielle. I also know that we have two kids now."
