tech week day 3 4/17 - school day 4/18

Last day of tech week (day before opening night) 

We had pit only rehearsal for like 1.5-2 hours and we worked on transition stuff and we played Quartet at the Ballet like 5 times 😭 it's Berk's favorite song I guess

Then we went to the auditorium and watched the actors attempt at doing bows on time with the track playing and then we got to play with them. Then we did a full run through of the show and only stopped like 5 times. 

We got a 15 minute intermission between Act 1 and 2 cuz the actors had to change mics and costumes. We (the pit) got Chick-fil-A so I had fries and chicken nuggets 😀 

Then we did Act 2 and bows and exit music

We had to redo The Neva Flows/Still Reprise, Learn To Do It, and We'll Go From There (pit is cutting the first 25 measures cuz Tristan says his lines too fast 😭)

Then we rehearsed Quartet at the Ballet AGAIN cuz Berk loves it and then it was after 9 PM so we went to the cafeteria to get dinner (FREDDY'S I FUCKING LOVE FREDDY'S) and I had fries and chicken tenders. I sat with Yenna and we watched Anastasia animatics and the scene from the Anastasia movie In The Dark Of The Night (I blasted it on my phone and everyone could hear it and we were all singing along😭) (Rasputin is bae 🥰)

I got home at like 9:40 PM lol so yeah I haven't been getting much sleep this week (like 7-8 hours but I need more cuz tech week is exhausting)

Drivers ed was boring we had to take a quiz but it was easy

English idk I never talk in that class but today I actually said words out loud lol I guess it's just nerves about Anastasia. My teacher asked if he could use my paragraph assignment as a class example because it was really good (I thought it was really bad lol) so I guess I was happy after that

In Latin magistra asked who's involved in Anastasia and that's me and Mauro so I said I was in the pit and he was like oh cool and then later in class I overheard him talking to his friends saying "I hope the pit gets cut" like he kept saying that over and over and then I looked over at him and then he said "they're talented musicians but they didn't get their music early enough it's not their fault tho" so I felt a bit better but then he went back to saying he hopes we get cut tonight like do you like us or not???? 😭

On one hand, that is very unlikely cuz that's not enough notice like pit call time is 4:30 so that would fucking suck if we rehearse for 2.5 hours just to be told we have to sit there and do nothing (I bet I would cry)

On the other hand, if Mauro convinces enough other actors to convince the theatre teacher, we might actually be cut, but bitch come on everyone knows we sound better than the tracks they practiced with, and appreciate this opportunity to perform a show with live music cuz we're one of the few high schools in the county that actually have an orchestra pit

Anyway at lunch my eye keeps twitching and it's super windy 😭 

History I started writing my essay, I finished my intro paragraph and started my first body paragraph then went on my phone lol, we had a lockdown drill and I just played Pac-Man for 15 minutes. The teacher said he's giving us all of next class to finish the essay so that's good.
