The penthouse door clicked shut behind them, the sound echoing through the spacious room like a gunshot in the stillness of the night. Ambrose stood there for a moment, his gaze sweeping over the luxurious furnishings and the panoramic view of the city skyline, bathed in the soft glow of the moonlight. He felt a sense of calm wash over him, a quiet contentment that seemed to radiate from his very core as he took in the familiar sight and sound of the penthouse he had sorely missed.

Mason and Jun lingered by the entrance, their eyes following Ambrose's every move with a mixture of curiosity and barely concealed desire. They had both noticed the change in him the moment he had stepped through the door, his demeanor radiating a newfound sense of confidence and self-assuredness that was impossible to ignore.

Ambrose turned to face them, his hazel eyes twinkling with a hint of mischief as he offered them a knowing smile. "I think I'm going to go take a bath," he announced, his voice low and smooth like velvet. "I would appreciate it if you could make us some drinks to wind down. I have a feeling we're going to need it."

Without waiting for a response, he turned on his heel and ascended the staircase, his footsteps echoing softly in the silence. Jun and Mason watched him go, their eyes lingering on the sway of his hips and the confident stride of his walk.

"Well," Mason murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "That was... unexpected."

Jun nodded, his eyes still fixed on the spot where Ambrose had disappeared from view. "He's different," he agreed, his voice laced with a quiet sense of awe. "More confident, more self-assured, more... straightforward with what he wants."

Mason chuckled softly, his eyes flickering with a hint of amusement as he met Jun's gaze. "I think that's a bit of an understatement," he said, his voice filled with a warmth and affection that seemed to fill the room. "But you're right. He's definitely changed."

Jun nodded, his expression thoughtful as he turned to face Mason. "Do you think it has something to do with the trials he faced during the initiation ceremony?" he asked, his voice filled with curiosity.

Mason shrugged, his gaze drifting back to the staircase where Ambrose had disappeared from view. "It's possible," he admitted, his voice low and contemplative. "But we both know that the details of the ceremony are kept secret by the Maverick Clan. Ambrose made a vow of silence. He can't tell even us what happened."

Jun nodded, his expression one of quiet resignation. "I know," he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I can't help but wonder what he went through... what he had to face to become the man he is now."

Mason reached out, his hand coming to rest over Jun's in a gesture of comfort and solidarity. "We may not know the specifics," Mason said, his voice filled with a quiet sense of understanding. "But we do know one thing for certain: at the core of his being, Ambrose is still Ambrose. Our witch."

"This change," he continued. "This newfound confidence—it's not something to be scared of. It's something we should embrace, something we should support him in."

Jun nodded slowly, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he met Mason's gaze. "You're right," he said softly, his voice filled with a quiet sense of wonder. "He's still our Ambrose, just... more himself, more in tune with who he really is."
