Song for the chapter: breakup with your girlfriend, I'm bored by Ariana Grande
Edvin's POV:
The droning voice of our English teacher filled the classroom , lulling me into a state of boredom. English class had never been my favorite, but at least out previous teacher was an eye candy. New teacher and her approach is particularly tedious. I tapped my pen impatiently against my notebook, yearning for the final bell to signal the end of this torturous hour.
Just as I was on the brink of the overwhelming urge to doze off, the teacher's voice snapped me back to attention.
"Alright class, listen up,"
she announced, catching the attention of every weary student in the room.
"I'm assigning a partner project, so pair up with someone sitting nearby."
My heart sank at the thought of being tethered to a classmate for yet another assignment. Partner projects were always a headache - finding someone reliable enough who can complete mine as well as their part without driving me crazy was a daunting task.
Then the bell rang and I went to the next classroom of Section A. Just for satisfying your curiosity, I'm in Section B and one of my classmate is Gia. Meanwhile my cousin Katy and Audrey are in Section A.
Glancing around the room, I spotted my cousin Katy a few rows back. Maybe she'd have better luck with partners than I would. With a resigned sigh, I made my way over to her desk during the chaos of partner selection.
"Hey, Katy," I greeted her with a forced smile, hoping she hadn't already found a partner.
She looked up from her notebook, a hint of annoyance in her expression. "What do you want, Edvin? I'm trying to find a partner for this project."
Ignoring her irritation, I pressed on. "You're not partnered up with anyone yet. Please choose me."
She rolled her eyes, as if the answer should have been obvious."No, of course not Edvin. You're in a different section. Go to your class. We're not in the same section, remember?"
"Agh okay but are you not partnering up with Audrey? She's your best friend after all!" I laughed sarcastically.
"No, I'm not partnering up with her, since she's doing this with Trevor." she replied rolling her eyes.
Trevor. The name sent a ripple of irritation through me, accompanied by a nagging curiosity. Who was this Audrey hanging around with? And why did it bother me so much?
I brushed off Katy's response mumbled her a bye and returned to my seat, my mind consumed with thoughts of Audrey and her mysterious partner. As the days passed, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled over me whenever I caught sight of them together.
It was during one such encounter in the school corridor that the pieces began to click into place. Audrey and her partner - Trevor, was it? - were engrossed in conversation, oblivious to the world around them. And suddenly, an idea began to take shape in my mind.
If I could keep tabs on them, gather enough evidence to use against Audrey, maybe I could shake things up a bit. After all, what harm could a little mischief do?
So it was time to execute my master mischief plan.
I found myself keeping a watchful eye on them whenever our paths crossed, my senses heightened with each passing encounter.
It was as if I had slipped into the role of a detective, stealthily trailing my unsuspecting targets as they went about their daily routines. I lurked in the shadows of the school corridors, my footsteps silent as I trailed behind them, camera at the ready to capture any incriminating evidence.
