Song for the chapter: Darl+ing by Seventeen
Stella's POV:
After bidding farewell to Jaemin and his parents at the doorstep, a mix of emotions swirled within me. Seeing them leave felt like the closing of a chapter filled with anticipation and newfound possibilities. As they entered the car, I stole a final glance at Jaemin, his gaze locking with mine in a promise of future reunions.
"Take care, Jaemin," I murmured softly, my heart skipping a beat as he blew me a kiss.
"We'll see each other soon," he replied with a reassuring smile, his voice carrying the warmth that had become my anchor.
As their car disappeared down the driveway, I turned back to face my parents, who stood beside me with tender smiles. "They're good people," my father remarked, his voice tinged with a hint of approval he'd been hesitant to show earlier.
"They are," I agreed, feeling a surge of relief and excitement intertwine within me. "I'm glad you could see that, Dad."
Stella's mom nodded in agreement. "It seems like things went better than we expected. Jaemin's parents are quite open-minded."
"They are," I reiterated, my mind drifting to the moments we shared over the past few hours. "I'm thankful they gave us a chance."
With our guests departed, Audrey approached me, her eyes alight with curiosity and excitement. "So, how do you think it went?"
"Better than expected," I replied, a smile spreading across my face as I recounted the evening's events. "Jaemin's parents seemed impressed, especially when I spoke to them in Korean."
Audrey chuckled softly. "I bet they were. Your Korean is better than mine, even though I watch more k dramas than you!"
We laughed together, the tension of the evening melting away. As we made our way inside, thoughts of Jaemin lingered in my mind, each memory adding to the tapestry of our relationship.
Later that evening, as I settled in for a video call with Jaemin, my heart raced with anticipation. His face appeared on the screen, his smile instantly warming my heart. "Hey, you," he greeted, his voice carrying a mixture of longing and excitement.
"Hey, yourself," I replied, unable to contain my happiness at seeing him again.
"I can't stop thinking about you," he confessed, his gaze softening as he spoke.
"Me neither," I admitted, a blush rising to my cheeks. "I miss you already."
"Only a few more days until we're together again angel," he reassured me, his words a comforting balm to my longing.
Our conversation turned to plans for the engagement. "Have you thought about what you'll wear? Although I know yours gonna look gorgeous in everything. You'll be the centre of everyone's attention!" he said with a playful glint in his eyes.
"I have a few ideas," I replied coyly, enjoying our banter. "What about you? Are you ready to be the most handsome man in the room?"
He chuckled, the sound echoing through the screen. "I'll do my best to live up to your expectations."
Before we knew it, Jeno's face popped up beside Jaemin's, his grin infectious as always. "Hey, Stella! I just heard the news. Congratulations, you two!"
"Thanks, Jeno," I replied warmly, touched by his genuine happiness for us. "It means a lot."
Jeno leaned closer to the camera. "You better take good care of Jaemin, or else I'll come after you!"
I laughed, feeling a surge of gratitude for friends who felt like family. "Don't worry, Jeno. I promise to keep him in line."
As our call came to an end, I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement for what lay ahead. The engagement, our future together, and the love that bound us were all within reach, painting a picture of happiness I'd dreamed of for so long.
