Song for the chapter: Good boy gone bad by TXT
Trevor's POV:
As Audrey and I settled into our spot in the library, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. Seeing her so happy after the concert with Andres had stirred up some old feelings. But I had to play it cool. Audrey was my friend first and foremost, and this project was important to both of us.
I glanced up and noticed Edvin lurking in the corner of the door, pretending to be busy with something else. People might think I'm just some dumb nerd, but I'm not oblivious. I knew Edvin had been keeping tabs on me and Audrey ever since we started working on the project. He was Andres' best friend, after all, and there was no doubt in my mind that he was reporting every detail of our interactions back to him.
Internally, I smirked. This was my chance. Audrey and I had a history, and I knew that if I played my cards right, I could use this project to get closer to her again. I wanted her back, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.
"So, Audrey," I said, trying to sound casual as I pulled out my laptop. "Let's dive into the next section of our project. We've got a lot of ground to cover."
She nodded, her eyes still shining with excitement from the concert. "Yeah, let's do it. We've got to make sure this project is top-notch."
As we worked, I couldn't help but steal glances at her. The way she focused on her tasks, the little smiles she gave when we came up with a good idea-it all reminded me of why I had fallen for her in the first place.
In addition to our project sessions, I had another ace up my sleeve: my YouTube channel. I ran a popular study channel called "Study Sessions with Trevor," where I posted study tips, vlogs, and study-with-me videos. Over the past few weeks, Audrey had started appearing in some of my content. We posted study sessions together, shared tips on effective studying, and even filmed a few vlogs.
"Hey, Audrey," I said, setting up my camera for another video. "Mind if we film a quick study session for my channel?"
"Sure," she replied, smiling. "I'm in."
As we recorded, I made sure to capture our dynamic on camera. Audrey's presence brought a new energy to my videos, and my viewers loved it. The comments section was flooded with positive feedback about our chemistry and how much they enjoyed seeing us study together.
After we finished filming, I posted a few pictures and stories on Instagram. One photo was of us laughing over a textbook, with the caption, "Study sessions with the best partner @audzzzz!" Another story showed us hard at work, with the text overlay, "Project grind with Audrey. #studysesh."
Of course, none of this went unnoticed by Edvin. Every time I posted something with Audrey, I could almost feel his eyes burning holes through his phone screen. It didn't bother me, though. In fact, I relished it. The more Edvin saw, the more I hoped it would stir things up between Audrey and Andres.
Weeks passed, and our project sessions became more frequent. We started hanging out at my place, at cafés, and the library. Each time, I made sure to make it fun and enjoyable, hoping to rekindle the bond we once had.
I began to notice a change in Audrey too. She was giving all her time to the project, often making excuses to Andres about being too busy. It was clear that her priorities were shifting, and it didn't escape my notice that she was spending less and less time with him.
One afternoon, as we were working at a cozy café near school, I decided to test the waters. "Hey, Audrey," I said, leaning back in my chair. "Do you ever think about our time together in middle school?"
She looked up, a bit surprised by the question. "Sometimes," she admitted, her eyes thoughtful. "We had some good times."
"Yeah, we did," I agreed, smiling. "I just wonder sometimes, you know, what might have been if things had gone differently."
